If you've already checked our threads recently in the sports and fitness section you probably have seen my posts and the responses I have gotten from them.

Since people have liked my answers to threads and have sent me personal messages asking for advice, I figured I would start a thread for people that want to ask questions in a public manner and then those answers can potentially help others browsing through.

You are likely wondering how I can provide worthwhile information on training or diet since I am only 15 and probably do not have real-world and science based knowledge on these subjects.

Well, for my entire life I have been around fitness and strength training with my parents competing in Strongman competition and then more recently at the age 14 I started to become interested as well. Unlike my parents however, I have been on a BodyBuilding path to "sculpt" my body into its greatest genetic potential of strength and size.

In order to focus on BodyBuilding (even if you are not going to strip down and compete on stage lol) you have to follow strict diet and training regimes that differ from person to person and therefore many people try and find a personal trainer/coach to actually make that training and diet program for them.

BUT in order to get a personal trainer you need to have a bit of money and most people (especially teens) can't afford doing this but yet teens are most likely to need a personal trainer as they do not know how they should train and eat.

This is where I come in. During my time on this road to get stronger, leaner and be healthier I have become involved and almost obsessed with the science behind how the body builds and destroys muscles and how the nutrients we take in affect our ability to build up those muscles and become more fit.

So far I have taken online-versions of the NASM and ISSA personal-trainer/exercise science tests and have passed both with a 90% or more. Unfortunately it is (for the most part) illegal for me to actually receive a certification for passing those tests until I am 18.

However that does not mean I can't use my current knowledge to help all of you on here with your strength training, cardio or dieting.

So, go ahead and ask any of your questions below (or if you need to...send me a personal message if the topic should be kept private.) I will respond in just a matter of hours to whatever questions any of you post!

Thanks for reading, and don't hesitate to ask me stuff!

Thanks Seth, would you consider this to be a healthy diet to maintain weight ? I'm very active by the way.

Breakfast: 6 weetbix + lite milk (400 cals)
Morning tea: apple + jatz with vegemite and cheese (100 cals)
Lunch: chicken cheese lettuce and carrot sandwich on white bread + 20 pistachios
Afternokn tea: banana
After school snack: 250mL lite milk + 2 spoons of milo (200 calories)
Tea: pasta, meat and veggies, or a chicken or ham sandwich
All up it is 1200-1300 calories , excluding tea :)
I feel as though I'm getting enough vitamins
Vitamin A from milo and carrot , B from Vegemite, c from milo and banana , d from sunlight and e from the pistachios, calcium from milk, iron from weetbix and milk and plenty of fibre.

So overall is this a good diet? am I lacking in any vitamins or minerals and can you make any suggestions?
Thanks really means a lot :)

Your are likely fine in terms of vitamins/minerals but if you want to play it safe just take a multivitamin supplement. Other than that, your diet looks ok but if it is only coming out to 1300 calories then that is too little. A normal diet is 2000 calories and then upwards from there if you are very active. Try adding some more meat throughout the day and depending on what type of exercise you do, that added protein/carbs will be very good for the body.
