Dextromethorphan is an ingredient used in most cough medicines. It alters the minds and bodies of those who abuse the drug. In high doses, it works as a central nervous system depressant and a dissociative painkiller
Consequences that can occur if you taking this in excessive high doses ,include delayed respiratory response, slow or impaired breathing, irregular heart rate and possibly death. When the drug is combined with other drugs such as heroin, marijuana or cocaine, the effects can be devastating, even toxic. Cough syrup in high amounts can induce vomiting. Many abusers think drinking the medicine quickly to combat the nausea and vomiting is better, but in actuality it means the medicine is ingested at a faster rate, causing symptoms to come on quicker and faster.
Hope this helps.

There was this kid in my school who decided to drink cough syrup during class. At the end of the class he was throwing up blood + cough syrup, and didn't know where he was. He was also unable to move, instead he could just lay there withering in pain covered by his own vomit. Have fun!

I've had some wonderful times on cough syrup. Never ever drink more than 1, I guess I could say "regulared sized" bottle and you will be fine. It is bad for you, though.

you want the ones with no other ingredients besides DXM otherwise your going to have a bad time such as death and or vomiting. Ive done it a couple of times while admit fun its so dirty at the same time never again shall i do it ill stick with lucy. Never drink more than a bottle, if that. Long term abuse symptoms include impaired cognitive function and possible brain lesions plus a whole bunch of other crap. Dont over do it, and if you must space out each trip by atleast a month

You can die or have extreme vomiting if you do not read the ingredients carefully. Otherwise it is a hallucinogen and works as a weaker form of LSD or PCP. But please do not use this. It will only fuck up your stomach and give you a terrible hangover the next day.

I don't know what I was thinking. Don't do it. You vomit everywhere and start shaking. I passed out on my bathroom floor in a pool of vomit. I feel like shit and I deserve it for being so stupid. The funny thing is that I really do have a cold now. Never again...

With me at least and I'm guessing it will happen with you is for a couple hours you will lose your balance. You'll be falling over and can't walk straight. That could've just been my symptoms though.

Depends on what is in it. If it contains DM which is in a lot of them then too much can be dangerous. There are actually levels within a DM high ranging all the way up to hallucinations or worse and then potentially major health issues.
