So i am "inheriting" an Htc Thunderbolt. And as it happens the screen is cracked in a neat little "x" shape. First i need to know if bestbuy could fix the screen and how much it might cost.

I'm sure they could, but I've found that messing with companies with stuff like that is just a waste of time. I'd look around in your area for someone who does a little on the side business repairing screens and such. I always get my Iphone fixed by a friends brothers room-mate, and always for like one/tenth the cost.

It sounds like that might take even more time than just going to Best Buy.

+1
The only downside is that these people/places usually can not be held liable for any damages caused to your device due to poor workmanship.

Yeah im getting it done by a professional. There is a guy my mom knows, working on my laptop right now. He has had it since June and keeps telling me it things are wrong with it. First it needed an OS reestore. And now the hard drive's gone bad. So i no longer trust the under the counter "Electronic handy men".

I'm not sure if that was directed to me or to LouBerry, but neither of us suggested buying a new one. The OP wanted to go to Best Buy to replace their screen, but LouBerry suggested finding someone they knew to replace it. I simply said it would be easier to go to Best Buy to fix it.
