Once guys start puberty, why do some guys veins "pop out" so much? I wish mine would do it but i have never been able to figure out how the guys that it happens to do it. How do you make your veins pop out (on like your arms) and why does it usually only happen to guys that have already started/finish puberty? Also i have read that if you drink alot of water, (and are slim) that they will be more likely to pop out, is that true.

I dont know that drinking a lot of water and being slim will make your veins pop out. And if you ask me it sounds like a myth. Also drinking large amounts of water can be extremly harmful to your body and in some extreme cases deadly. My veins do pop out more then they used to be for puberty. Yours might too but remember everyones body is different and it might happen for you later then others. It could not even happen at all but it all depends. My advice is to wait and see what happens! Dont try and speed it up, just be patient.

That like a lot of things, are genetic. Some veins(like mine) pop out naturally. Mine pop out regularly, but very noticeable when my heart beat races(exercising).

I don't really think there is anything you can do. It's genetic, I believe. Some guys have veins that naturally pop out and some guys just don't. I am one of the guys that doesn't have veins popping out.

I have noticed that a lot of men who are quite muscular have veins popping out. But I've only noticed that with guys who are very muscular. Like I said though, there isn't anything you can do really.

Try just lifting weights, not like crazy, but take it slow with a low number of pounds.

I'm slim and my veins pop out on my hands a lot. But it's just something you have or don't have.

My veins pop out often and heres what you should know about it. The way my body is built is not random but intentional. If your very active and do high intensity sports,

meaning things that often require you to go "all out" like wrestling, sometimes football, pole vaulting etc., you will be one step closer to your goal. Expending as much energy as reasonably

possible during the day and in sports also helps speed up your metabolism which is a huge advantage! Even small things like randomly sprinting up the stairs when you take them can help

to burn a little energy at your leisure and is refreshing. Make sure you eat very well, try not to over eat but eat till your about full, so greatly minimize your taste for processed and

unhealthy foods. Limit your soda intake as well; it helps you maintain a clean white smile and helps your body. By doing this you will lean your body which makes you look hot and

muscular, and because you have so little body fat your veins can easily show. Thats why some shirtless pictures look like the person is flexing when they are not.

The goal is to lean your body, little body fat; not skinny, lean. There is a difference and thats the difference between the shirtless pict thats like whatever and the one thats like WOW!

Thats what I do and I never flex in any of my pictures. Not to seem arrogant. :)

As some the answers that other people have posted are partially true. Some of it is genetic (of course) and it also is caused by how athletic active you are.

How it happens is that the process occurring in the capillaries as a result of the rise in arterial blood pressure during exercise causes plasma fluid otherwise resting in these tiny tributaries to be forced out through the thin vessel walls and into compartments surrounding the muscles. This process, known as filtration, causes a swelling and hardening of the muscle that is noticed during exercise. As a result of this swelling, cutaneous veins are pushed toward the skin surface, flatten to some extent, and appear to bulge. Such veins are more visible in persons with less subcutaneous fat. This bulging is neither good nor bad but simply a result of normal physiological mechanisms that result from the rise in arterial blood pressure during exertion.

1. Get lean with a low bf%
2. Workout and start training for hypertrophy which will start creating new vein pathways to get nutrients to muscles.
3. Drink water a lot through the day.

The reason why your veins stick out, is because you have low body fat. Especially on the arms. People can have veins pop out from almots anywhere, from calves, to arms, to shoulders, to even pubic/stomach region. I can already tell you that you have between 10%-18% body fat, or you juts have muscular arms. When veins stick out, its called Vascularity. Many, many guys want vascular arms. I know I REALLY want vascularity lol

The way you can get vascularity are:
-Genetics
-Low Body Fat
-Working Out
-Vasodilators (which can be unsafe, but can assist in vascularity)
-Body Building

So just get rid of some extra body fat, and start working out. Workout your ENTIRE body though, not juts abs, pecs, or arms, but legs and calves. Have your body balanced, have a strong good looking upper body, as well as a strong, good looking lower body.

To an extent ya, but you don't get vascular and have popping veins by being skinny with no fat. It comes by doing some sort of exercise whether it be strength training or cardio. The amount of veins in you body greatly increases to bring more nutrients around yourself and they also get bigger hence more "veins" on your arms/legs/neck wherever.

You dont magically grow veins. They begin to show by low body fat, having muscles helps a lot more.

Less body fat and exercise will help

New capillaries and vein tissue forms for many reasons but can be achieved through strength training. I'm not saying you're wrong, but low bf% is not the whole story.

And by the way I'm guessing it was you that negged me, I mean I honestly do not care but. Guess what scientific evidence proves I'M RIGHT ... WOW SHOCKER since I only post stuff backed by science.

Here is the link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15333630

So whoever negged me whether it was you or someone else should reconsider next time and change their mind about negging me for being right lolololo :yeah:

I don't think its completely correct to say you must be exercising to get them to pop out. I exercise regularly but can usually make them accidentally pop out by hyper-extending my arm in some way while I'm relaxed.
