I havent felt like doing shit since last thrusday and i just cant get motivated. Whether its homework, lacrosse, or music, i find myself getting distracted and lost in thought and wasting my own time. Im wasting my own time and not doing anything.
Does a lack of motivation have to do with depression in any way? and if so, who should i see about this?

This has been me for the past year of my life. I'm 15. I can't get motivated at all. All I do, currently, is sit down for about 7 hours at my PC day-to-day after school, that is. I would not call this a depression but it sure feels like it. I get about 40% in all tests I do in school.
Not just you, my friend. "Suicidal thoughts" have been haunting me for the last 6+ months.
Anything is appreciated.

Lack of motivation IS a symptom of depression (http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Depression/Pages/Symptoms.aspx), but self diagnosing is really unreliable. If you are finding it a problem see a doc. In the UK they ask a load of questions and make you fill in questionnaires and stuff.
I feel I have been mis-diagnosed with depression, but I actually think my issue is anxiety (and triggered by specific events, not continuous and ongoing) and so I've been researching it a lot. I found useful information on depression on the NHS website:

Hope that helps,

Depression is a chemical imbalance. So it is very likely that is whats wrong. I have it. But I was never a unhappy person or anything. It just happens sometime with stress.

It is a symptom of depression, but it's also a symptom of many mental illnesses, so it's best to see a doctor about this.

Yea, when u aren't motivated there is usually something that is bothering you. If u have been having problems and feel sad then its depression. If ur thinking thoughts of suicide that u cant handle tell a doctor quick. Even if ur not thinking of it yet and ur still depressed find out what is depressing u. Life is too short, the afterlife is what counts so be good in life so u dont go to hell in the after life. :D
