So far I've gotten through season "one" (as Netflix says). It's the season with the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston). I guess it's just because I instantly liked Eccleston's personality that I was deeply upset that he was killed off, and so soon on top of that. I have watched the first episode of the "2nd" season, but due to being busy and still upset over the 9th's death, I have yet to continue it yet.

ahh. so you are also watching the new series. already on season 5 with the current doctor. "Rose... before I go, I just want to tell you: you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? [Pause] So was I!"

I am a Whovian, I have watched all the episodes of the reboot, it's an amazing show, this season so far is alright but Dave Tennant is my favourite Doctor.

asedfajk;kj Doctor Who.

Oh OP, wait till you finish watching all the old episodes. I did that too. Watched each season straight on Netflix. But umm... when you start watching it every week on telly after you've watched ten episodes per day, you tend to have some... withdrawal issues. Mine are still happening today.

I'm in a bit of a depression because the "Fall Season Finale" was last Saturday across the pond and I'm kind of annoyed/impatient. Annoyed because I'd just rather them start the season later in the year than release five episodes and make us wait until Christmas.

Oh, and I really don't like the new companion. Really don't. I'm not a huge fan of the Ponds but I was sad because them leaving means this other girl comes in. She doesn't... look like a companion to me. She looks like she would be better suited for Pretty Little Liars or Gossip Girl or whatever the shows teen girls are obsessed with these days. At least I've got last season of The Office with Catherine Tate. Makes up for it slightly. Though if only they put more Catherine Tate.

And one little episode did not satisfy my Alex Kingston need. Each week I was hoping to see her and I kept getting severely disappointed. Spoilers! When The Doctor asked River to be a permanent companion I was literally shouting at my screen. I knew Moffat wouldn't be so nice to me but I can dream, can't I? ...I need to get into ER or something, I really need more River. Alex Kingston is just so.... gah. I'll shut up.

I love me some Dr. Who. I actually like Matt Smith, he just can't pull off serious doctor as much as David Tennant.

I'm really surprised that Casey hasn't found this yet. She's a total Doctor Who fangirl. I am too, but I've been kind of slacking off on my watching (only like three episodes a week now) because of homework :/

Huge fan here - also watched most of the old stuff too. Not such a fan of Matt Smith - Tennant was great.

I might be slightly obsessed with it… I've barely missed an episode since I started watching during Eccleston's 'doctorship' - apparently back in '05. At first I disliked Matt Smith, but I generally take some time to acclimatise to any sort of change, and soon I liked him (though not as much as Tennant, who was my favourite of the three. I've also seen a few older Tom Baker episodes - the plots were great, but the special effects were laughable!

hello people of gallifrey -- shit, I mean earth.
I HAVE ARRIVED.
I've seen all the episodes, excluding the ones with Tom Baker. It took a good few months to get through them all and watch each ep. even from the first doctor.
You could say i'm obsessed -- actually no.
If you say i'm not obsessed, we're going to have a problem.

watch the old eps. first. They can be much better.

Allons-y!

I just finished the 5th season of the new doctors. I loved Tennant, but I like Matt Smith. I cried sooooo hard when Tennant was like "I don't want to go."

I'm a definite Whovian but I'm not enjoying series 7 as much as I would have hoped.

I started watching it on ABC when series 5 started and got quite into it, but I really got hooked when I borrowed series 1-4 off a friend; I managed to get through all of the episodes within a week.

A older cousin of m ine has all the origian series eps on VHS and thats how I got into it.

The new series isn't exactly a reboot though as much as a revival!

Revival?/ Can we say PRAISE THE WHO!!! HALLAWHOYAH!!!:D

I watched one episode and I pretty much saw then and at that point that I didn't like it. I usually give a lot of these things a good try e.g. watch quite a few episodes. I can't though. Maybe some day I might return. I just never got into the series all that much.

Which did you watch?

I can tell you, I was not impressed when I first started watching Doctor Who. I watched the first episode and didn't pick it back up for a couple weeks. After that though, I got completely and utterly hooked.

Well it would take you years to catch up if you went back to the first episode aired in 1963. I'd recommend you go back to the first of the 'reboot' series with Christopher Ecclestone.

The older stuff had way less budget than the original Star Trek and the effects and props can often look a bit cheesy. Its wierd though, if you do watch the old stuff a lot of the time the stories are so good you forget about that after a while.

Yeah, totally, that's what makes it so imposing to get into- This has been going on for nearly half a century. I'll be sure to check out the reboot series, thanks for the advice~

I am such a Whovian! I've seen a couple of the old ones but every episode of the re-launch so far.

I like all the doctors but my fave is David Tennant. Least favorite is Christopher Eccleston.

I absolutely LOVE Rose Tyler. Cried for ages when I saw Doomsday. Not a fan of Amy Pond but I like Martha Jones and Donna Noble.

Totally scared of the Empty Child. For some reason gas masks scare the he'll out of me. Last time I saw it on google, I had a panic attack.

But in conclusion, love Doctor Who.

Dr who is awesome! I've only watched the new doctor who episodes so haven't seen any of the Tom Baker ones or any like that but I've heard I should watch them. I really like all the new doctors since they are each unique in their own way. So far I've seen through series 6.

The whole thing with River Song was epic but kinda a let down at the same time.
SEMISPOILER ALERT
It was so cool not knowing who she was or what kind of heinous crime she committed and now it's cool and everything but now the suspense and mystery is over. Hello Sweety is still awesome though. Also kinda weird and cool that we see her die first and then get born later.
END ALERT

Anyway, saw this on we and couldn't stop laughing http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8454/7978753979_59b83a41da_b.jpg

I figured it out like ten episodes back. I kinda laughed when I found out few people knew before Good Man Goes to War.

Well, I guessed it was The Doctor when she said she killed a great man (Crash of the Byzantium I think the episode was?). So I knew that from wayyyy back. Then I guessed she was Amy's daughter because A. Amy was pregnant, B. super strong kid in spacesuit from the place Amy was seeing Madame Kovarian, C. person in spacesuit kills The Doctor.

It's a bit confusing, her timeline, but I'm happy the BBC made that video with all the episodes in the right order according to her timeline. Made more sense. But since she's coming back eventually, where would that fit in her timeline? o.O I think Moffat's making too much work for himself, he already has to deal with regular timelines...

But thats the fantastic part about time traveling, you never meet in the right order. :P but river won't be brought back, until the doctor first sends her off the her death. and if they bring her back after that it would be an epic cliff hanger for the episode in which they send her off.

Moffat had talked about possibly doing River's "nights" outside the prison, which I'm incredibly enthusiastic about seeing if it happens. And yeah, I really hope we get to see stuff like that, when The Doctor knows what's going to happen but has to let her go anyway, and giving her his future sonic screwdriver. I don't know if I'm going to be able to deal with twelve though, Matt and Alex are like WOW. Ten is my favourite but I'm glad it was just that one episode with them, because while I don't like Matt as much, he's got the obvious chemistry with Alex.

And then don't get me started on the whole thirteen regenerations thing.

Can we please discuss how the statue of liberty can NOT be angel?

I kinda started to get confused too. Weeping angels were pretty standard, then they introduced those little cherub things, okay, sure, I can accept that. But then in that episode it hinted that any statue could be an angel and that doesn't make sense, of course, because these are landmarks. Someone built them. Weeping angels can pose in graveyards and look like they're meant to be there, but when it's a full-on national landmark, I agree. It was an interesting idea though.
