No... Being rape is sex without consent, so going with it you are letting it happen to you but you didnt agree to it so its still rape.

Uh excuse me, no. Rape = sex without CONSENT. It has nothing to do with whether you put up a fight.

However, if you are grabbed then putting up a fight immediately is a good idea. A survey done of rapists in prison showed that they are less likely to go through with it (i.e. it's not "worth the effort") if the girl fights back.

Most rapists are pathetic people who are such weak people that they need to rape in order to feel "strong" and like they control something (please don't draw paralells between this and self harm or EDs, that's a different matter) so if you're putting up a fight they probably won't unless they have a weapon. A lot of rapists carry scissors, but I'm talking about a gun or something. That's when it becomes a real issue.

I, uhh.. would like to think i'd fight tooth and nail to avoid getting raped but there's too many things that could happen, like the attacker having weapons, etc which would make fighting back a potentially really bad choice.

Being a male though, it's unlikely i'll get raped but then again.. you never know what might happen down the road..

I can name 3 things to protect yourself... Pepper spray (AKA mace), a firearm (pistol with a permit, depending on your areas laws), and not to popular but a tazer. Self defense can help too, and I agree what Alex said above.

Depending on the situation fighting back can help, but the point of it is to just get the hell out of there! I wouldn't know what to do if there was a lethal weapon involved, but if you sense any danger it'd be best to just get out of there before they come into contact with you..

If I were being raped, I would do everything in my power to avoid making my rapist angry. I would comply with whatever he (or she, I suppose) wanted me to do. I would rather feel violated than be dead.

I would like to add that I am 5'4" and about 105 pounds, and would be unable to fight off an attacker under any circumstances.
