Why did you choose intel and or AMD (please each company has their advantages and disadvantages please for the love of god don't flame)
Myself i've always been AMD because my dad used it, he died 2 years ago so i'll always use AMD, because it reminds me of him and the fun we had building computers.....

I use Intel because of the large amount of extra cache like y chip which has 4Mb which isnt really n option with AMD. Other than that theyre pretty evenly matched except when it comes to super high end stuff like the quad cores from intel but i dont have that kinda cash

higher chache doesn't mean better performance, the old p4's had twice the chache that AMD chips did but AMD was still kicking intels ass.....
but come September's 10th (yes i'm counting down), the world will see the first true quad core, not to dual cores, on the same die...
you're right about the quad cores whipping AMD, the AMD 4X4 system on socket F (1207) was a complete joke

Higher cahce does mean better performance because it allows the cpu to store mor information in its super quickly accessible cache. Which ultimately results in better performace when you talking about large differences. But other than that its not all that important because theyre evenly match thats just the little thing that tipped my scale toward intel.
3 more days woot woot. lol are you gonna have the money to buy one?

No i wish though i heard they're around 700, i maybe wrong on that and if i am correct me......and it's only first launching at 1.93ghz...but still it's the worlds first true quad core and it's AMD!

Yeah thats like what i heard. But thats way outta my price range  and i just built this computer so no new computer for a while.
However i want to upgrade my ATI X 1950 XT to either the 8800GTX when its price cuts in novemebr or get the new G92 (9 series) then.

I've always prefered AMD over Intel's line of processors. I haven't been able to try out and of the latest Intel Processors VS the Latest AMD Processors, but back when built my Desktop Computer (2005) AMD was hands down producing the best processors. I can't vouch for the Core2's or any of the Latest ones Intel has released, though, as I haven't been able to test an of them.

I always used to be an AMD fan, but since having owned an Intel Core 2 Duo, its very quick, although the AMD Turion 64 in my laptop is also very quick, so i think they're pretty even right now. I'd like to see what an AMD x2 is like though.

"The name of the G92_290 chip will be the GeForce 8700 GT/GTS, while RV670 should come to market as Radeon HD 2700GT/XT. Fastest G92 board is being developed under codename P393A01, and it will retail for 249 (we expect overclocked versions to be priced at 279 and 289 USD), and cheapest variants will go for 199-229 USD.
In short, G92 is simply half a G80"

i hope the 8700 is what the 8600 was sopose to be a actual mainstream dx 10 card, not some sort of joke as the 8600 series is...
edit: 2 more days until AMD releases Phenom !!!!

I'm not loyal to either company. If one has a fast, affordable chip out I'll buy it.

When I was like 8 and took apart my dads pc when he got a new one I remember him showing me the intel processor inside and like now I build my own computers for myself I always seem to use intel since I find its like keeping the one brand in my computer since normally in my pc every year I try different companies for different parts e.g nividea for graphics cards one computer then try another make in the next computer I make but I always use intel as my processor
