When can we expect a "big" update to the site? Will we ever get a new look/layout?

Most likely, not in the near future. The newer versions of vB are very buggy, so to update to a version just because it's the "latest and greatest" doesn't make a ton of sense.
Also keep in mind this site is completely non profit; none of the staff, or the administrator of the server gets paid.

We're not trying to monopolize the teen help forum part of the internet, so "updates" that do nothing more than make things more "pretty" or "attractive" go against our mission.
Besides, if it isn't broken, then don't fix it.
