Alright well I have recently taken an interest in shaving down south, I am a regular "man-scaper" however, and well although I have shaved it before irritating red bumps still come up, any way I can prevent them?

I find that if I use real hot water and soap, I seem to not get as much...also a little aloe seems to help after....

When you shave it, do it slowly and rinse the razor multiple times. I found out if you shave slower and rinse the razor more, it doesn't irritate the skin. If you do get the red bumps, try putting some lotion on which helps out the irritation.

What I do is I shave pulling down towards my manhood. and i DONT shave going up because I will get those red bumps and ingrown hairs.

I think its partly about how hard you push the razor - a light stroke is better. I've been shaving for around 4 years now, and direction doesn't matter for me (I get a better result if I go in different directions). Rinse any shaving gel (soap) off well, and then moisturise. If you have redness, broken skin or spots you could use an antisceptic cream instead of moisturiser.
Some spots are caused by in-grown hairs. Don't dig at them or you'll just make a mess anyway, but you can encourage them out by rubbing with a flannel or by gently scraping flat ended tweezers over to lift the hair out (and I would usually pluck it out myself). If you get a lot of these you could try waxing - over time it weakens the hair root so you'll have less chance of in-growing hairs and slower regrowth.
I wouldn't use aloe unless you have used it before - I'm allergic, so the last thing you want on skin that is already irritated is something that might make it worse. Imho aloe is mainly a marketing ploy to push products.
