I just want to say to all the girls in this section, that guys/girls love both skinny or curvy girls. There is no reason you need to change for anyone, except yourself :) It doesn't matter what that dress size says, it only matters how big your 'heart' (figuratively) is. If you have a wonderful personality, then you will be looked at as a girl who is beautiful. If no one can accept you for who you are, or how you look, then they don't deserve you, because you are to good for them.
Just wanted to say that, to help lift the spirits of some people who may be going through a tuff time :D

I don't think you understand EDs properly. People tend not to care about what other people think, its not about others most of the time. Its about self esteem and self confidence, how you want to look to be able to feel good. Sometimes, on from that its about proving yourself to, yet again, you. When you are going through an ED it's just you going through it, not for other people but yourself. It's nice you were trying to help but really saying all the wrong things doesn't do much good. Sorry to tell you.

Well I know that some people throw up (bullimia), because society tells them that skinny is the only good.

I dont have ED... But what I do understand is like Nikki said, most wont care about how others see them but the person with the ED just wants to like what they see in the mirror. Its why they keep at it, despite what others may say to them, that they are perfect as is. Its horrible that it happens. :(

Sure, that might be true. They might feel pressured by society but overall for most people it's because they want to feel comfortable in their own body and the only way they think they will be happy is if they're skinny. It's all about how people perceive themselves.

Nikki is right. I have an ED myself (I don't really look like it though.), and it isn't about what other people think. Sometimes, but not always. For me personally, it's about making myself happy. I feel like if I'm not perfectly skinny, I'm disgusting. Or I feel like people are looking at me because I'm overweight. I'm not one of those who judges. I look at bigger people and tell them they're beautiful, because we really all are. An ED is different for everyone. Some do it because of stress (which is also a cause for me). Others do it because they get bullied for being overweight, some because they have abusive parents who make fun of them. But all in all, ED are a problem. They cannot just be fixed by someone saying, "You're beautiful, every guy likes a different kind of girl." Or for guys, "A nice girl will just care what's inside." Anorexics have a fear (most of them) of gaining weight. No matter what people tell them, it will stay. It takes much more than a few compliments and a pep talk, but it is possible to overcome an Eating Disorder. For some, it's harder for them. For others, it comes easy.
