I have a newer Toshiba Satellite... But are they any good? I mean the previous one we had it was sh**... This one is going great now but yeah it can be stupid at times. And are the new ones prone to over heating? I have the C655D model.

To be honest, and this isn't apple-biased at all, but I really just don't think the Toshiba Satellite family is a good computer...at all.
Then again, it's been years since i've had an experience with one... I'm sure they've improved.
A tip to prevent overheating for ANY laptop is to:

Keep it on a flat surface (such as a desk, or in your lap)
The exhaust vent is clear of dust, and is not obstructed on the surface (such as being blocked by a blanket)
Taking proper care of the laptop in general, and keeping it nice and clean.

Be careful not to burn yourself if you choose to put in on your lap.

I don't mind Toshiba's, my mom's NB305 is nice and sturdy compared to my flimsy Samsung.

I hate the bloatware, though. It's extremely annoying when you mouse over the Start Orb and a block of Toshiba crap shows up.

I don't know... try using it? My dad has one and he bought a new identical one when he spilled wine on the old one, so he must like it.

I actually have this one, this is my third one of the Satellite series and to be honest this is probably the worst of the three. I don't know about others but my crashes atleast once every two weeks, it can get slow. But other than that, it seems to work fine.
