So...

I am on instagram and i have a younger friend (kind of) who has started following me. I am afraid that he is the kind of person that would have his ipod 'monitored' by his mom. The problem is with this, our moms are friends and i am afraid his mom will see that i am on insta and talk about it with my mom who isn't good about me having social networks and stuff. Any advice???

I wouldn't be too stressed out about this. Instagram isn't really a "social networking" application, anyway. I mean, it's mainly used for uploading to Twitter, Facebook, or social networks like that, but it doesn't have to be used for that purpose.

If your mom ever found out, just tell her you like to use the app to take pictures, there's nothing wrong with that.

I don't know much about instagram myself but from what Steven has said it is not primarily a social networking site and don't get too stressed about it I mean the chances of your younger friend dragging you into anything embarrassing or private when he is on instagram himself is very unlikely and if it does an excuse can always be made.

Then say exactly what it is for, you like that app and your friends have it and just say you are primarily on it to talk to others and it is nothing untoward or anything for her to worry about.

You could also explain to her that you use it for good things too and it is an effective way of communication for free. You could also just make an excuse if any when the situation comes up.

Overall chances of this becoming a problem is low. You could speak to your younger friend and tell him that what is said on IG is private. However, the likely hood of this incident arising is probably very slim.

You'll find you'll deal with the situation when it comes up but chances are it wont so don't stress about it.

Thanks but its not that something has happened on IG, it is that my mom doesn't know i am on insta and i dont think she would want me to be on that kind of thing.
