What in the hell is this? It's suggesting that being gay is based on genes, and how a female body feminizes the fetus by seeing it as a "foreign object".

Is this a joke? What are your feelings?

Do you have any scientific proof to back up that statement? If not, then you are doing the exact same thing, aren't you? Making things up without any support or proof.

These are theories as to why people are homosexual, it's not proven. I don't exactly agree or disagree with the idea of birth order or the idea of antibodies attacking the fetus; but I think it's more related to how your brain is wired than anything else. Brain chemistry is an extremely weird thing and I think it's more so just the luck of the draw - just like having either your right or left hemisphere (of the brain) be dominant over the other and you still can have the opposite hand be dominant - going against the dominant hemisphere.

This is already becoming a debate :P

everything about us is a genetic expression. Our parents had genes for dominant and recessive genes for what make us who we are. Hair color, blood type, height, IQ so why not sexuality. It fits with people saying they were born that way.

Personally I think this is more geared to children, to explain to them that it's not wrong to be gay and it's natural. I'm feeling pretty certain it's not for people over the age of like 11. Sort of like a Johnny has Two Daddies book.

As for the male fetus being seen as a foreign object, I think it's debatable. I remember in my genetics class hearing how some women go through difficult pregnancies because their bodies don't adapt to accepting they're pregnant rather than just having a parasite in the womb, basically it knows something's tapping into its blood and nutrients and goes on defense instead of realizing it's growing a child. Specifically for males, I myself don't think so.

Edit: thought was corrected

Much of this video is fairly accurate, though oversimplified. There is a strong genetic correlation for homosexuality, as is shown by many twin studies. It makes sense that genetics would play a major role. There is also a strong and proven correlation between fraternal birth order and homosexuality, though the prevailing explanation differs from the one provided in the film. Each male child alters the testosterone levels in the womb for all subsequent pregnancies, there is a suspected link between prenatal testosterone and sexuality, though more research is needed. The video is correct that it isn't a choice and the conversion "therapies" don't work.

On a side note, these aren't theories about homosexuality, but hypotheses. A theory is a definitive, proven explanation for a phenomenon. A hypothesis is an educated guess that is to be tested and can eventually become a theory if it gathers enough supporting evidence.

Thank you.

I was...not happy...about this misuse of the word theory.

Even the video.

Even the video...

People need to stop perpetuating the misconception that a theory is anything but the most proven an idea can get. I didn't watch the video, but if these are unproven ideas then they aren't theories.

EDIT: Somebody beat me to it.

There's generally some kind of scientific reason behind everything, not just you are born that way.
