Can't Fall for Anyone

Trying to keep it brief.. I started having girlfriends in freshman year and I used to fall head over heals for girls all the time. But a while ago I started talking to an ex again and then found out she'd been fucking around with other guys while we were talking.
In any case, it crushed me and since then (even though I've been on several dates) I haven't been able to fall for anyone. Like at all. It's been 7 months since then and I haven't had the slightest feeling for anyone I've been intimate with.
I don't know if something's wrong with me, but I've met some really cool girls and can't feel anything for them, even though they'd be great for me. I just can't get that feeling. What should I do? Has this happened to anyone else? :confused:

I've had a slightly similar experience. I suppose analogous is a better word. It will come back. It's just a reaction; you want to protect yourself from being hurt. Maybe there just aren't that many attractive people around. But trust me, you'll fall for someone again. It will take a while, but your love life's not dead.

If you had a relationship with someone and they turned out to be shallow or just in it for sex or whatever, and you want more than that .... then its not surprising you'll have higher standards next time. That may not even be a conscious choice, but now you've got some experience it makes sense that you've learned from it and maybe you are looking for something deeper.

All I can say is don't give up trying, and don't settle for second best : you deserve someone who will put as much into a relationship as you want to.
