Ok. I'm 18, and I'm STILL getting the random boners once in a while. It's not as often as they used to be but I thought I should be done by now. Also, what exactly is happening to cause this? By that I'm asking for the exact science.

It should stop soon, everyone's different, I know it can be embarrassing at certain times especially when you are on the school bus or during class, hormones are at there peak and when you think of someone sexually or even look at something sexual your hormones are like "I wanna bone that" and you get an erection. When you get one try thinking of something distugusting or listen to music or keep yourself entertained, you won't get them as often as your mind is on something else

The random erections only die down gradually from your early 20's onward. And the science behind it? I only know of the testosterone influx that causes this. But I'm not sure what other chemicals are involved and how they actually trigger frequent erections.

I'm 18 and in 4 months I'm 19. I haven't got random boners for looong time like when I was 17 I think I didn't get them anymore at all now it's even less.

I suppose you're just in different stage it will end when it's the time :)
