wtf is screamo?

Does this looks like devil worshiping music?

LfRxqw3Btps

it's naked men with oiled skin worshiping music. Show the people this and teach them what's heavy metal!

Heavy metal =/= screamo. I listen to heavy metal as well as several derivative genres, and agree that most of it (except Black Metal) is not satanic. However, screamo refers to an offshoot of punk. Not metal.

The metal bands that I listen to are...
Arch Enemy,
Gorgoroth,
The Agonist
Cradle of Filth
Allagoch
Burzum

Heavy metal =/= screamo.

Exactly what I was gonna say. "Screamo" is like... old Alesana stuff. Heavy metal is just that, heavy metal, and rarely is there the type of screaming you're thinking about, OP.

lol you do realize what heavy metal actually means

"Heavy Metal is a style of music that began to emerge around 1970 in England and the United States, and is the first of many Metal sub-genres. Black Sabbath is considered by many to be the single most influential group in the formation of this style. "

I'll be the dork that says yeah Danzig is my favorite 'heavy metal' band.

lol no. Screamo is the baby of Emocore and the brother of Post-Hardcore. Many people think screamo is metalcore (Shit genre) for some reason or some dumb crunkcore shit. It's not.

This be screamo stuff

Yeah I like heavy metal. My favorite genres of music are Rock and Metal (actually they're the only genres I like). I'm not to familiar with the bands listed above :P but I really like Metallica, Judas Priest, Disturbed, Godsmack and Korn. I also really like Nirvana, although they aren't classified as "Metal"

Hey and I think it's great to see that teenage girls still listen to heavy metal in this generation instead of Justin Beiber, Katy Perry, One Direction and other bullshit like that.

Also if you're looking for another good christian metal band, the band "Skillet" is pretty good.

Total truth.

But you should mention that a lot of the crybaby 'metal' bands of today have their roots in this music, especially the post-hardcore part.

I like how everyone jumped all over the OP's shit for mentioning screamo and heavy metal lol. Then people started jumping on the shit of the people who jumped on the shit of the OP. xD

I've always found genres of music confusing, while I do enjoy the music being put into categories, when you get sub-genres of sub-genres, I think it's going too far. It does go to show the variety of music that can be found in each genre however.

But yes, as pointed out by the other posters, Heavy Metal is not the same as Screamo.

My favourite heavy metal bands would have to be: Trivium, Mudvayne, Lamb Of God, All That Remains and Mudvayne.

I could add more bands that might be considered "Heavy Metal", but they would pobably fall into the catagory of "Progressive", "Industrial Death Metal", "Industrial Groove Metal", "Math Metal" etc etc. Kind of proves the point that these sub-genres are getting out of hand.

No, no, no, no, no, no. I like KoRn, but there is no way in hell that they are "Heavy Metal", they're "Nu Metal". I don't even think Godsmack is "Heavy Metal" or Disturbed for that matter, they have elements of Heavy Metal but I don't think they belong in that sub-genre. Skillet are a "Christian Rock Band", they're not even a metal band!

Gosh.

Yeah, I like metal and screamo. No, heavy metal and screamo. Yes, the subgenres of metal have gotten out of control. There are way too many "cores" and new subgenres are created almost daily.
