So is there a reason why the licence plates in washington dc reads "taxation without representation?" I mean the usa was founded for tht exact reaon but why would the licence plates say tht? Btw I kno why DC doesn't have representation but I have no clue why you would be proud enought to put that on your licence plate

Washington DC isn't a state; it's a territory of the United States. Just like Puerto Rico and several others. They have no representation in the U.S. government because they aren't a state. However, they are taxed and do have a federal tax from the US government. Puerto Rico, on the other hand, doesn't pay federal taxes.

Well like I said I know that already, but I'm pretty sure they get taxed though,

States generally have a slogan or saying on their license plates. New Jersey's says "The Garden State" and New York's says "The Empire State". I'm guessing DC uses "No Taxation Without Representation" because it's the capitol of the United States and that saying is one of the principals our country was founded on. It doesn't have to do with whether they are taxed or not - just a catchy phrase.
