So a lot of people call obama black even though he is as black as he is white,
So my question is tht do you think people will call obama black if he had a white wife and had a more typical name like john doe,

He's black. He's white. He's both.
Yea I'm pretty sure people would still call him black regardless, they're probably be 3x more racist remarks if his wife had been white too.
Frankly, I hate when people insist that he's black. Yes he is, but he's mixed race. You can't deny that he's got a white parent, insisting he's black is proving half of his parentage, stop ignoring the other side of his family tree.

As far as I'm concerned Obama can go to hell, not because he's black, because he's a awful president

I think a lot of people just don't like him BECAUSE he's not white. They may say they don't but most of them are just lying to themselves. That's just my opinion, though.

Considering the majority of Barack's family tree comes directly from Africa, which is obviously more than common for blacks, people are gonna call him black.

Agreed!

This guy is always right. He is both black and white but more black. He's mostly black and also a little white.
Bottom line: he's a terrible president either way. Regardless of his ethnicity.

Well I think most people will call you "black" if your skin color is dark, and call you "white" if your skin color is fare or pale. It's as simple as that, no racism is intended when somebody calls a person "black" or "white".

Why is he a terrible president? I'm no obama supporter myself but it seems people's hatred towards him is based off hearsay and unimportant over exaggerated bullshit.

Yea that's true. I was just going off how I feel, I personally hate when someone calls me just white or black, never just mixed. Like I have to pick a "side" while they prune my family tree or something. Who knows, I shouldn't have projected my feelings of it onto the President ahaha.

He is both black and white. But ever since, if you had a little black blood, you will be considered a black.

I don't call him black, i call him more muslim. Of course I mean the muslim as the stereotype(not trying to offend anyone even though it probably is) I really dont like obama. He tries to cut the military down 20,000 of that, 10,000 is marines...

We need to stay within our means. Some of the most wasteful spending goes into the military, so it should be a no brainer to start cutting that money off. We can spend less on the military and still retain strong national defense; we don't need to be sending our men and women overseas.

That fucking username.
Anyways to me, who really gives a shit? He's black, he's white, yeah. Cool. It's like someone killing a fly.. it doesn't really matter. People have been making a big deal over his race since he was elected. And while some people did vote for him just because of his race, does it really matter? If he was fully white and had the same views he does now, a majority of white people will vote for him just because of his race.
Obama sucks, Romney sucks. They're both different races. Doesn't make much of a difference.
So my question is tht do you think people will call obama black if he had a white wife and had a more typical name like john doe,
If his name was Nancy Grace he'd still be called black. Because he has a higher percentage of a darker skin tone than a lighter skin tone. Not necessarily african, but being black is usually associated with skin pigmentation, right? So yes. If he had the name John Doe and a white wife, he would still be called black.

Haha well said
@FreeFall also well said, seeing tht u were mixed in anotherpost I was curious what u would say
I mean back in the 60s mixed ppl were considered black by white ppl and white by black ppl
I think some black ppl are ok with calling obama black bc at least a man with some african ancestory became president
I'm ok with some military spending, we spend about 717 billion on military

Nope, his skin's still naturally dark. No matter what lifestyle he surrounds himself with, he can't help that he's born dark-skinned. I think referring to him as "black" though, for me anyway, is more of a statement and an observation than anything.
As for politics, I've never really been one to get into it. I don't have a thoughtful, formal, firm opinion on any of this, since I don't have enough information, but I feel like Obama's just the "lesser of two evils" here so to speak when compared to Romney. Maybe he's the lesser evil by a lot, but Obama's no Ronald Reagen or anything.

People call him black since he looks more black than he does white. Even though he is mixed race, his skin tone is closer to black than white. I'm mixed race, but everyone just assumes I'm white, since my skin isn't much darker than most white people. The majority of people judge race based on skin colour and not heritage.
I don't see why people make such a big deal of it. So what if he's black, or half black. What matters is how he governs. Race is unimportant.

He is has more dark pigmented melanin in his skin than lighter shade, so I'd say he is black, even if he did have a white redneck type of a name.
