I've been reading some posts and noticed that some state that they change with the opposite sex in locker rooms. Is this common in some of the European countries? I haven't ever heard of that here in the US.

I haven't seen any opposite sex changing rooms in or around my area in England so I would say no

What American stereotype is this, a lack of geographical awareness?

Erm but yeah no we don't, I haven't even heard of a school here having locker rooms particularly just changing rooms but yeah i'm pretty sure its not the done thing to make males and females change together.

The only places I've come accross same sex stuff like that in Europe has been in nudist resorts and some hotel spas (although that was mainly just people being naked in the sauna/steam rooms and showers, but the actual locker rooms were still separate in one place).

I've never heard of anything like that, even on these forums.

I live in the UK.

In my limited experience the rest of Europe excluding the UK is less uptight about nudity and sex than either the UK or the USA. Going topless on the beach seems quite normal for Dutch women, I have seen unisex toilets at a camping site in France and in some French villages they had urinals in the street with no enclosure.

Not in Hungary, for sure, but I'd imagine it's not something that would happen anywhere in Europe on a bigger scale...

Its very uncommon to have both male and females change in the same room at least in the UK. Occasionally you will find unisex toilet facilities but they are more in clubs than anywhere else and are rare to come across.

Lol that's not happening.

I've spent time at schools in both Denmark and Finland, and the changing rooms were separate in both schools, but it was acceptable (and common) for a clothed female to come into the male side for some specific reason - one of the swimming teachers was a woman and she came in to give out notices several times, and there were sometimes girls from the class who came in to ask something of the teacher, or looking for a boy, or something. Whenever that happened, none of the boys ever covered their middle bits up, or seemed at all bothered by it.

I'm in Canada and the only mixed bathrooms are the "family bathrooms", which are used for parents with small children of both sexes that can share the change room and washroom.

Same as the poster above here in the UK. The only mixed I've seen are the family ones at center parcs.

I can honestly say I've never heard of this before, but I can't say that it's impossible. It might exist somewhere in Europe. On the other hand, I've also heard a rumor about a small town in Europe that consists completely of lesbians, and that was proven false. It's was just a mix up involving a small island called "Lesbos" Which is the place where the term lesbian originated. So I'm personally gonna say, this is probably false too.

Not in Finland, and I'd be very surprised if something like that happened anywhere in Europe.

Actually, I did see urinals like that at a festival I was at once in Australia!

Definitely not in France. In some swimmingpools there are no specific changing rooms. But you mest undress in closed small rooms

I wouldn't have thought it was that common anywhere. FYI it's not common where I come from.
