A San Francisco hacker says he has cracked the new iPhone 5, less than eight hours after its release to the public.
Grant Paul, who develops software for Apple's iOS operating system, posted photos on his Twitter page of a 'jailbroken' iPhone 5.
Apple ships its iPhones and other mobile devices with restrictions that only allow Apple-approved software to be installed.

Not surprised what so ever. I've never jail broken my iphone though because I just don't trust it.

Well why should users be forced to just have apple content? Isn't that a tiny bit communist?

That doesn't surprise me. By the way, Apple makes these "jailbreaks" easy on purpose. It's a matter of a few lines of code to make it thoroughly impossible, and that's how computer security works.
If Apple truly had a problem with "jailbreaking", they would brick every phone that was jailbroken, because it's also a few extra lines of code to see those extra files, which are rather hard to hide on most modern filesystems.
Apple does this as a move to get more users to use their products. They've still regulated what you can and cannot do with it, irregardless of the "jailbroken" status.

Not so much communist as it is capitalistic.
