I'm running windows 7 64bit, and I've noticed that whenever I try to get sound to play, it starts up quietly.
This is a bit difficult to put into words. Imagine a fade in music, how it's playing, and then it grows quite until it's not playing anymore. Usually when you activate a fade in the middle of a song, the volume goes from full to nil in the space of a second. Now imagine this backwards, a fade starting up.
This is what my computer's doing, and it's annoying the buttnuts out of me. I miss most of my system alert sounds, as they're short and not too loud. I just miss them either completely or only catch the tail end of them, so I have to go hunting for what's wrong, since I had no way to recognize the sound or what it meant.
Any help to turn off this start fade?
