The water drop one is soooo good, Iris. Everything is perfect, composition and color. You can see the reflection in the drop too. :)

All of them are really great! I'm just in awe of them... I really loved the first one, I thought the timing on that shot was completely stellar. And the water drop one is really amazing too! All in all, you did an incredibly good job with all the photos! I look forward to seeing more :)

Beautiful captures, Iris. :)
I love the tones of the second one, the perfect focus on the fourth, and the sunset in the ninth!

I am officially an Iris fangirl. I really cannot get enough of your work! The way you use composition, color and focus along with other elements of art and principals of design is beautiful.
Your focus on the white butterfly sitting on the purple flower and the drop of water coming out of the bottle is perfect. I don't think it could be any better than it is. The same goes for the four bugs.
You use space very well in the one with the sunset over the lighthouse with the pretty sky. What separates that picture from every other "pretty sky picture" is how well you use space. The rule of thirds is as basic as it gets; but most people still don't know how to use it, and don't know how to use a horizon like to their benefit. You on the other hand do it very well. You separate the positive and negative space really well making it stand out among 10 million sunset pictures. Well done.
I'm so glad to see you shooting a larger subject matter and broadening your work. If I remember correctly you were going to submit your portfolio as a part of an AP course, no? If so, have you settled on a concentration yet? I'm still working on ideas for mine, I'd love to talk to you about AP (if I'm remembering correctly and you are taking it).

I like how you're expanding to the use of some wider shots (like the sunset) instead of limiting your focus to the tiny ones. I mean, the little ones are amazing, but some variety in your portfolio is also good and may I say that this particular variety is beautiful beyond words.

:D thank you! I'm so glad you like them. I really appreciate all the positive feedback, it truly pushes me to do more. The one thing I disagree with is that my captures could not be better. They can always be better. There is always another level to conquer and achieve. It's what makes photography so incredible: the ability to capture reality so well that it doesn't even seem like reality-that's my goal.

Yeah I've been trying to broaden my horizons. I don't want to stop taking shots of droplets of water, and nature is my primary focus, but I'm moving outwards from there. My next thread is going to be peppered with shots I wouldn't usually take. I enjoy it, even though I'm a little uncomfortable and not as skilled in other areas of photography. Also no, that wasn't me. I don't remember who it was (I remember reading that in a photography thread too), maybe Jo? The only APs I took were European history, biology, and psychology. I'm also is college now, so no more APs for me. I just began my first ever photography class this semester ^.^. If you need any help with some of the technical or compositional shit, let me know.

Thanks so much :')

I really really love macro and closeup, and if I ever have to choose a focus, that's what I'll go with, but it's nice photographing other things too. I'm glad you like the variety this time :). I don't have a formal portfolio (unless you count deviantart), but I'll keep that in mind. Thank you

eyo girl hit up some more pretty pictures with bugs please
But seriously imo typical pictures of sunrises and things like that don't mean much to me, the close-up's of the bugs where you can literally inspect them on their territory they sit on, that's very neat of you to get those shots. Good job.
