Scars!!

i have so many scars from self harm and some of them are really bad, its gotten to the point now where i cant even take my shirt off and cant wear shorts because of how bad they r, i guess what im asking is if anyone knows something i can use to get rid of them, something that is cheap and easy to get... my mum wont buy it for me as she think if im stupid enough to do it then i have to deal with the scars :( someone please help

there is a topical cream out there
i dont remember the name however if you go to your doctor he can prescribe it. its sort of like an anti-fungal cream
my doctor had me on it for the longest time

Bio-oil works, but you have to be consistent with it (try twice a day, after about two weeks you'll start to see results.) Also, I realize this may be difficult, but make sure your diet is balanced; the minerals and calories - yes, calories - help your body heal and break up the scar tissue.

My worst scar is the one on my right-hand. I was cooking and had some cooking-oil in a pan heating up to put chips in - the stuff exploded over my hand and was burning - I doused it with a wet towel - the nurse said that probably saved my hand - but I got a skin graft from my arm to make the skin for my hand and muscle from my Butt called a split-muscle graft to replace the muscle. Its gonna take another three years before it is really stabilised and I have to wear this khaki coloured glove to keep pressure on the skin and keep it flat. Sometimes life sucks!:confused:

Try using moisturizers and cocoa butter also works quite well, depending on the type of skin you have and how bad the scars are.. I'm not sure if they do a cream specifically made for that, for the removal of scars, but maybe you could look into it.

And I'm sorry that your mom thinks that way. PM me when ever you'd like, because I know how hard it can be.

I can understand how self harm cutters would wanna hide it, but ppl who got them otherwise why is it a big deal, I mean I get questioned about my facial scars all the time, and ppl say stuff like "no offense but how etc" or "its ok if you don't wanna talk about it but" I appreciate the sensitivity but the scars don't bother me at all so Idk why its a big deal, but eh I wasn't good looking b4 the scars anyway

Try keeping them well moisturised and applying bio-oil a few times a day, but you have to make sure you're consistent with application to see any results. You could also try a vitamin E cream, as it's supposed to help fade scars.

I just quit hiding them. Whenever people saw them they always had one of 2 responses: Pity me like I'm pathetic or be offended. People would look ate in disgust and make rude comments. So I just accept them, and everyone else can kiss my ass and deal with them.

There is a difference between scars from self harm and other things, I know that my scars that aren't from self harm - I don't care who sees them, but my scars from self harm, if anyone sees them, I go into panic mode - which is why I hide them.

Some people don't like their scars as a reminder if what they've gone through, sleep they want them gone.

Nuhuhuh, never feel sorry for a self harmer... in my books that's the same as pity.

If it was up to me, I'd rather shot be at and have stuff blown up in my face, than inflicting pain on myself.

If she loves you, it won't matter about your scars and how you look

I have a few scars but I don't know if they're as bad as yours.
Lemon juice always works for me, just rub it into the scar and it turns it white, and makes it practically invisible.
If you put lemon juice on the cut then it's just another form of self-harm...

I use Vitamin E Oil and Maderma but I haven't seen any noticeable improvement yet.

I use tanning moisturiser on my arms, as im mixed race and my arms are quite pale from being covered up all the time. So yeah maybe that could work for you.
