My mom knows I self harm, she has done for a long while. And since it's got worse, she's been taking away all the 'sharp' and 'harmful' things around the house away, because I will do it with whatever I can get my hands on. I have previously done it with scissors, pins, needles, jagged bits of plastic and metal, smashing and breaking things, like rulers and mirrors, to get things sharp enough to cut. But nothing did it for me like a razor. I discovered the razors and started using them. It cut deeper, hurt more and left more scars. I needed it. I lied about what I was self harming with every time my mom found out, because I was terrified of her taking what I actually used away. She found out about the razors yesterday and now I literally don't have anything left to cut with... It's driving me insane.. I even unscrewed a pencil sharpener and took the blades out of that, but they didn't work as well, hardly anything at all really.
I need it... and I'm hoping you guys will understand that.. I'm going out my head.. I need SOMETHING... :guillotine:

I know how you feel my mum took away my blades before and it drove me crazy. You need to have a talk with her, sit her down and explain that actually taking away your blades might push you into other more serious stuff. You'll find a lot of information for parents online and most suggest not to remove the self harming tools if you can arm yourself with that then that might help her understand.
Personally I got a third party involved, my teacher phoned up my mum to explain to her taking stuff away from me wouldn't help. Is there anyone in a position of authority who would do that for you?
Or maybe have you thought about using this to make yourself stop?

It's not as easy as finding a different hobby, it's addictive and horrible and it's not easy to stop...
Anyway, back to OT:
Please, try to talk to your mom about how that WON'T help. I can't really say anything else (or as well) as Louise has said.
Try suggest instead of taking sharp pointy things, to get you therapy. taking away the source of the cutting won't take away the source of the issue.
