Hi,

I just wondered if someone could explain to me what it means when a person's account says that it has been Frozen. I did a search, but it came back with mostly joke threads.

frozen = temporarily banned. sometimes the member chooses to be frozen for personal reasons. you can't post in forums, but you can log in and that's it

That was a long time ago. Users used to be able to make 1 appeal thread in the VT HQ but now all appeals are sent to the appeals website.

Anyway Jess nailed it. A member will be displayed as frozen if they request to be frozen or if they receive too many infractions/reach the infractions limit to be frozen.

So how come I see banned and frozen people in the forums.
Because they're banned, frozen ect. Their posts are still in threads. Just because a member is banned is doesn't mean their account is deleted and posts are removed. Rarely are accounts deleted because it just leaves holes in threads.
