About a month and a half ago, my dad died from a major heart attack. I seem to think about him a lot. My mom is crying a lot over him which is understandable. I feel guilty that I don't cry as much. I loved him and he was great to me, but I just don't seem to cry about it as much as I would think. Should I be feeling this way?

Really sorry for your loss mate.. I think the fact that you don't cry much doesn't reflect your emotions on sadness and etc.. It might just be because your coping well and trying to think positive, which is what your Dad would have wanted no doubt. I think it's good that your coping well as now you can support your mum whilst she is upset, which I'm sure you do already.. Don't feel guilty mate, just be proud that your remaining positive and that your Dad would likely be proud of you for doing so. Once again sorry for your loss mate and I hope this is of Help to you...

Honestly I don't feel that bad when a family member passes away. It rarely affects me. I think our primal survival instinct still remains somewhat. Your mother may act sad, maybe feel a sad, but at the end of the day, she only cares about herself, you only care about yourself, and I only care about myself.
To answer your question there is nothing wrong with feeling that way

Naaa don't feel guilty, you know how you feel. It's a lot to absorb when you lose someone you love. You might do more crying after the shock and numbness starts to fade and you start missing him more and more. :)

First of all , i'm sorry for your loss.... it's hard to los your father in this young/critical age , i hope u have the power to be strong and support your mom.
and secondly , to answer your question, u shouldn't feel any guilt what so ever !! some people express thier sadness and grief by crying , some by withdrawing from societ and become less sociable, some by eating too much , some by dinking and smoking and SOME " and i wish you are that kind" by honoring the one they love by thier own success in life .
I wish if i can help more

Oh no, I'm so sorry for you loss! :( You really shouldn't feel guilty though; everyone deals with grief in different ways and it's your way to keep it in. I would tell you to try to speak about it to someone though, it might help! Good luck! :)

I'm really sorry for your loss. Don't feel guilty. He left of natural causes, so you can't be blamed. Try to move on. You still have a long life ahead.

Everyone grieves in their own way. Whether you cry or not is no big deal. You loved him and are sad he is gone and that should be good for everyone. No one should blame you or accuse you of not loving him just because you don't cry over him--and that includes yourself. Don't blame yourself.
