I know how you feel. People don't understand it, they really don't, and they judge other people because of it. It's wrong for them to do that. People have done it to me too. Things will get better though, I know it sucks right now, but they will get better. And you will always have us here on VT to help you through it. We're more than willing to help hun. People who don't self harm don't understand why we do it or anything like that. It's those of us who have and still do go through it that understand..

I think you should be hinest with her and try and make her understand how your feeling. And explain that cutting is not a cult its something associated with depression etc. If she still goes on tell her to google self harming

This is awful, I know exactly what it's like to have a parent who just has no fucking idea what cutting is about. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy and can only wish you luck in hiding it from her.

On another note, there are those who do form clubs around self-harm. They are the minority, but they are out there.

I don't know what type of personality your mom has, because I know if one of my family members were to say that, I would think that they're just joking.

But I'm sorry to hear, it's good (well, if that happened to me I'd consider It good so my mom wouldn't think I'm a cutter when I actually would be) she didn't think you were lying, next time be careful. Because if she sees those cuts In a month shell think theirs more to the cuts.
