bi-polar in the open

before i start i should say that i personally don't have or know anyone with this illness. but what i want to say is that where i am a major football personality has just revealed that he suffers from bi-polar (revealed after he admitted he had been on recreational drugs on and off during his football career) meaning that its being talked about in the media and heaps of people are hearing about it and what its about, including myself. i think its great that people can become more aware of it and how it works so if we are ever in the position of knowing someone with this illness, we will have some idea how to care and support them.

It's great that awareness of Bipolar is being increased in Australia. It might help erode some of the stigma that surrounds diagnoses like this one and make it easier for others to seek help.
