What will life look like? Will there be robots like in the movie iRobot?

I don't think there will be robots like in IRobot. Maybe we will have hydrogen fuel cell cars or something. But robots not yet. I believe we will have a mine on the moon. There is a company that plans on going up there next year to start mining so who knows how big that will be. In 2020 a Japanese company plans to start a space elevator so I think that will be 1/2 done if not 3/4 done. Probably little computers and projectors on phones as well as possibly holographic projectors. The world will probably be more eco friendly than it is today because we will probably have alternate energy. I think by 2025 we will be at a period of peace sort of. No big wars such as the US over in the middle east and stuff. Or there is a world war and that would make everything I have just stated almost impossible.

I've never watched iRobot, so I can't answer that. But, in 2k25, I imagine very fast computers, in places that we can't imagine being in now (Eg. A central computer unit for the home).

I'm pretty much citing with MS on this one.

Well think of the changes that have happened since 1999.

Well, when you think about fuel cell cars or whatever, remember that 20, 25 years ago (and for some time since then) everyone thought optical discs were going to take over everything, and I don't know about you but I don't get VirtualTeen on a CD.
The most interesting stuff is going to come not from the technology people are considering to be "the next big thing" today, but the advancements that will be made possible in the future. (If we could think of them today, why don't we build them?) These are the advancements which will probably have the most impact; sure a space elevator would be nice but that's going to revolutionize the world like the internet? not yet.
Addendum: If it turned out the space elevator could be used to revolutionize automobiles, that's the sort of thing I'm talking about.

Well there is currently the NAO robot starting st $16,000

This happening is realistic by 2025?

I see what you mean. WE already do have HFC cars and vehicles. We just need a way to perfect them so they aren't so expensive. The reason we don't use them right now is because the catalyst used to separate the protons from the electrons(the thing that powers the motor) is made of gold or platinum which is really expensive. The only other problem right now that they have is that hydrogen is explosive which would be bad for a car crash. But remember, gasoline is combustable as well. I know the space elevator won't do anything major yet, its just going to save a lot of money rather than taking months of preparation for a rocket launch. The one they plan to build will take about 6 days to get up now, but eventually I think it will become faster.
As for the robots, Tacitus, I completely forgot about them. I think we could have robots like the first ones you seen in iRobot. Not really the ones with the moving faces yet. I forgot about robots such as robonaut, big dog, and also the Navy is trying to develop a firefighting robot to use on boats so no one has to get hurt. Not a little RC one, but a bipedal robot I'm pretty sure.

Maybe not exactly 2k25, but around that time period seems plausable. We have pretty advanced technology these days, and if you think of the technology we had in 1999, we've came a long way.

I doubt we'll go as far as to create a fully functional and self-sustaining AI like in iRobot. I suspect we might be in a future like Deus Ex (specifically Human Revolution, which took place in 2027).

I highly doubt we'll be able to create perfectly working artificial intelligence by 2025. However currently computer scientists are working on project that will transmit all of the brains knowledge on to a hard disk. Yeah, that's right. Your entire brain on a hard disk.
And then after they figure that out, they'll start working on a way to integrate that hard disk into a fully functional ai. Which if you watch a lot of japanese/asian scientific reports, they're not that far off from accomplishing.
So maybe i'm wrong, maybe we will have ai by 2025. But by 2050, i'm almost positive we'll have something of the sorts.

2025? We will have super fast air travel and we'd be touring the moon. Maybe affordable fast cars and smartphones for everyone.

I don't think we will have A.i. that being said, I don't think your brain being transmitted onto a disk will be Artificial. Also weren't they trying to get it so its a little holographic of you in like 33 years or was it by 2033? I don't remember. Other than that I think your right. Probably not an A.I. like in Scifi movies/game/books, but maybe something like it and a hologram maybe.

Well there should be robots in every home by 2020 in south Korea.

What do you mean fast cars affordable? Stuff like lambos or ferraris? Hell no. They want they're cars as expensive as $400,000 so that they can only supply to the people of wealth. Of they become affordable they'll become as common as fords or toyotas, and they don't want that. Plus, everything that's in those cars is of the best quality you can get.

Seriously though, I don't think there'll be many dramatic changes. Not much more than in the last 13 years anyway.

Everybody will be curled up in their dark basements reading messages on all of their innumerable social networks while the government is watching them from our space-junk atmosphere. We won't have any sunlight, but the gases trapped in our atmosphere constantly warm the planet. There will be no escape from the masses of people our technology has allowed to live and reproduce. There will be great wars over the supply of oxygen. We will transition from the users of the computer to the tools and programs of the computer.
Whoa, whoa. Back to robots. That sounds much better.

TBH I don't see much changing.
Computers will have several TBs as well as laptops.
Smartphones will be thinner, bigger screens, better touch screen, 1080, decent camera. Maybe up to 100GB on 1 phone.
Cars will get faster and more efficient, while alternative fuel will become more common, petrol/diesel will still be the majority.

Whatever happens, happens, not worth pondering over what will when we can just live life in the Present and hope for the best for the future! :) I don't suppose things will change too much though..

No one will use computers. Everyone will have a smartphone and use a tablet if they need a bigger screen. Everything will be connected to the internet and AT&T will be even more evil.
