How to talk to a jock...

Lately either a. Jocks seem to talk to me or b. im stuck in situations where if indont talk to them its awkward.. I like silence but not awkward silence..
Now, im one of the nerds who hangs out with nerds who hangs out with geeks who hangs out with dorks. Jocks are a whole different species, completely. How would you strike up a conversation with them? If there are any jocks out there your opinion would help! But any opinion is welcomed :)

Really depending on your jock, you can talk about anything you usually speak with to your peers.
I struck conversations with ours about food, and places to eat. We ended a class talking about how much Denny's sucks.
If you're dealing with typical meatheads that beat up kids for lunch money, try getting them to talk about the sport they do. See if one can tell you what it's like training, if the coach gives them a hard time, if they ever wanted to change/drop the activity. Maybe drop in if you ever wanted to do xyz sport/activity and/or why you didn't do xyz sport or activity.

I don't have too much experience in the talking department, but I expect they're just ordinary people. Once you think of them as such, it probably becomes much easier.

Jocks are just humans, they aren't aliens from the planet Zog you know :P Besides, everyone has their little quirks. Just ask the jock what's up, or what music they listen to, or ask them to teach you about their sport.

You're just twisting my words. By ordinary I meant they're just human beings like you or I. So are you suggesting jocks aren't people? Or are you an alien from the planet Zog?

Just talk about random stuff. If you notice you're both going somewhere or something just ask them a question about it (even if you already know the answer lmao). Just general friendly chat like you would wish your friends. Stereotypes and cliques arent the be all and end all
