Ok people so as you all hopefully agree that like 95% + cops are genuinely good people who joined up to serve the community, but lets face it when you take out the trash everyday you begin to emulate it. And when it comes to beating up innocent protesters, do you people think that the police really want to be cracking young people's skulls?

Anyways....

Would you guys be up for paying more taxes to have psychological testing like once or twice a year like they do in europe on police officers to assess their stress level and if it is too high then we go and give them some paid vacation or therapy?

Think hard, this might cost an extra 1-2% of your income.

Not really. I don't see how the new medical system in the US (which already is supposed to mean that taxes support medical care) doesn't at least partially cover this.

I think this is something the NHS does here in Scotland but usually it is only after an officer has served considerable time or has been through a trumatic stressful time or incident.

In terms of the USA, I think the medical system is too fucked up. People who need help aren't getting it and I think that it is wrong. So even if I said yes, I think they should, it wouldn't happen because of the USA's current views on medical care. I mean Obama is trying but to be honest he has made little head way on this due to his loss of control in the senate and houses of representation.

Maybe a good idea, it sounds good, but then some people would figure out how to abide the system.

No.
I think there's already something like this covered in their benefits but anyways, no. A person that wants to uphold the law should know what they're in for. For crying out loud their duty's to keep a whole mass of people in check, if that doesn't scream stress and hard work then they should join the force. If they're so easily succumbed to stress, that's not my problem. I shouldn't pay for them to have their de-stressing relaxation vacation or therapy. The department should set aside funds for that, charity events, or figure out how to work with one less man because he' "soo stressed". I'm a greedy selfish citizen more concerned with getting through school and climbing into a stable life. The cops aren't my responsibility, I don't want my income being poked at even more for them to either sit on a beach or go to what they should/could pay for themselves.
