Yeah I agree.. I get annoyed by people who go on protests and do stupid things like glue themsleves to railings lol. But I always turn lights off now and dont leave stuff on, but that's only compensating for my PS3 being on all the time! Plus my Dad's TVR has a 4.2 V8, fuck global warming then! 4MPG in town :P xD

Yea I am the same, like turning stuff off and all, but yet I drive to work, which is like a 5 minute walk.

Oh well, doing something is better than nothing, I do get annoyed at my step-dad though, he'll walk into a room, turn the light on, walk out and leave the light on. He also always leaves the computer screen and speakers and the TV and the Sky box left on or on standby which annoys me!

i really worry about it we have three houses and two garages and i switched all the light bulbs to the energy efficient ones we turn our lights off and we use solar lights in our yard instead of wired
we have high efficiency furnaces and hot water tanks
but at the same time my dad has a f350 diesel i have a v8 expedition etc....
I want a hybrid vehicle but i need an SUV where i live on the roads here
the new escapes nice but i dont have like 30grand laying around my truck i have now is paid for...
Plus in the winter when its -40c out i admit it i start my truck and i let it idle for awhile to make sure the engine and cabins warmed up before i risk the open highway
There building a nuclear power plant by where i live so thats cool no green house gasses and ALLOT less gas used to make the steam needed for the tar sands
Its going to be a brand new design one of the most advanced in North America
Southern Alberta has more wind mills than any other province in Canada
My dad really wants to get one for here a small one for in our yard a guy in town has one it works awesome
etc....
I really care for any worry about the envi
but unless ur filthy rich
you can't always be green
and to be honest for the most part
greenpeace annoys the fuck outta me
i like them annoying the japanese whalers n stuff
but shit like there doing in the great lakes is unacceptable

I most certainly care, but my parents don't. It's so infuriating how they don't care "because they'll be dead when it becomes a problem." Ugh, they also ridicule me when I spend a little more buying "green" or "organic" products.

To be honest I don't care because I am not 100% sure it's even true. Any energy saving I do would be to help cut costs and save money because using energy is very expensive so I try to cut down for money reasons, not in the name of global warming.

I'm the same really, I go wonder if global warming really is real, or at least as bad as they say it will be, but I do try to save as much energy as I can.

I'm sorry guys but global warming like evolution
is a fact
When a panel of thousands of scientists all agree it exists and its our fault....I think instead of living in denial and trying to shift blaim we should get off our asses and do what humans do best, adapt
I can already see the changes where I live
Canada being a northern country is going to be hit hard by it
I want Alberta to get off its ass and actually spend some hardcore cash into alternative fuels like hydrogen
It shows extreme promise but needs a massive inital investment
One Alberta could easily do
Not only would it be extremely green but as the initial investors we could claim patents left right and center more world headquarters for energy companies would make Edmonton and Calgary there home
and we'd boom again
While being one of the cleanest providences and in turn countries on the planet
Just like we need more Nuclear Reactors I can't wait till 2017 when the first of two twin reactors will fire up an hour from where i live
We have the radioactive material in Saskatchewan which has two of the largest uranium mines on earth and the plants need allot of water...Canada has the largest amount of free water on earth
They produce massive amounts of power and zero greenhouse gas
We could easily build more wind turbines in southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and all over the Northern Territory's in the Tundra and along the rocky mountains where the winds are strong
Were surrounded on three sides by three separate oceans and we have some of the largest lakes on earth that mine as well be mini seas where we could set up tidal turbines under the water and wave turbines along the rocky shores where the waves hit hard like in Atlantic Canada
Then theres geothermal and of course solar
There is no need to be spilling out this much pollution
theres no need to live in a world where everybody's glued to the tv to check the smog reports
Green doesn't mean economic oblivion
On the contrary you could make billions in it if you play your cards right
the technology's here
The public support is here
The need is now
Company's have made billions marketing a product allot less profitable and safe as green energy

I was getting pretty pissed off at my step-dad last night, he'd been drinking and was on the computer upstairs, and during the night I found him asleep at the computer, everything on (hee'd turned off the screen-saver and everything), so I just pulled the plug out. Then about two hours later I found him fast asleep on the sofa, the TV on and the Sky box, also just about all the lights on downstairs so I just turned off the circuit breaker for all the downstairs stuff. It just pisses me off.
I agree with you totally Cody, we need to act now. I think it's down to the government, if they spent money on all this stuff, and if people actually bothered to do something about it (aka not using the car when possible and turning stuff off .ect) we'd be on track to prevent or at least slow down global warming.

I could do more but right now I don't know what I can do to help stop or slow global warming. That'll come with research and some good work.

I've read a couple of books on climate and I understand how climate shifts etc comes about and how green house gases effect our atmosphere and all that, but I still don't consider myself well enough informed to give an opinion as to whether or not I think it's fact or a whole load of baloney.

I feel its too late, but I care, I'm just not going to bother doing anything about it because unless the whole world steps up, we're not going to have a big enough impact. One more person is basically no help, I'm not vital, its over, the battle is lost before it has began. You don't need to be psychic to see where our future is headed; down the drain.
