Tattoo to cover up the scars?

Just would you get a tattoo to cover up your cutting scars? Me... Its the issue of I cant do anything to my body anymore that permanently changes it... Being a tattoo... Id love to get one but I seriously cant. But would you though or not?

Not only to cover up, but to show how far I come.

I plan on getting the word "breathe" in a cursive font on my left wrist and a bird cage with birds flying out of it on my right thigh. Those are the places where the SH is noticeable.

tattoo's do cover them yes, but you have to be careful because sometimes they are just obvious cover ups

A lot of tattoos would just draw attention to the scarred area I think its got to be the right tattoo to work.

But I plan on getting a tattoo anyway completely unrelated to self harm or scars just cause they're nice.

Not over the scars, no. I might get one related to self harm or how I feel though. I definitely want tattoos, although I'll have to wait until I'm about 18 because my parents would never give me parental consent when I'm 16.

Never get tattoos, they're way to addictive! No, I'm only messing, can't really talk, got three myself and saving up (slowly) for a fourth one! They're great, they get rid of the urges for me.

As for getting one to cover up cutting scars, yes and no. With the scars at the top of my arm, I'm planing on getting half a sleeve done, so they'll get covered (but they're not that noticeable really). Want something (not quite sure what yet), to cover the scars on my wrist, so I don't always have to hide them behind my bracelets, (but I won't do that until I've stopped for at least 1-2 years). Covering my thighs/stomach not too bothered about 'cause no one is really going to see them.

I do eventually want something to do with self harm tattooed on me somewhere, to one show my support, and two so in a way I can let people know that I've been there and survived.

Oh, and I want a phoenix (on my back I think). Again, that's only once I've "overcome" what I'm going through at the minute.

Like I said, it's very addictive, but I love it xD

I wouldn't use it to cover up my scars because that would show i'm ashamed of them in a sense, and i'm not, not really. If/when I can finally stop SHing then I would like to get some by where i self harm, yeah

A lot of people tell me "but your scars show you how strong you are!" I don't know... they don't do that for me. I hate them and want them gone.

I did it. I have a butterfly with my sisters name above it over mine, but not to hide them, just to set myself free. I'm proud of my scars, because I've come so far.
