Just curious how it works... Does it go by what rep other people give you, or what you give other people? Or is it a mixture of the two?

I don't know why I've just decided to think about it, but, just curious :)

the rep power you currently have goes by what you get. It goes up every 50 pts, every 1000 posts, and I believe every 6 months. When you +rep people, they get 25 pts (you have 25 rep power). When you neg rep them, it's half of the rep power.
