Do you think homeschooling is better for boys or girls? I think homeschooling is more effective for boys.

This is more of a debate than a puberty question. :P

I think it depends on the individual's learning style, not their gender.

Agreed with the posters above.
I'm curious though, how'd you come to that sort of conclusion?

Whether someone should be homeschooled depends on their personality and learning stye. There might be some slight correlation between gender and benefit from homeschooling, but it's probably not very significant.

It's hard to say since this is such an opened ended question, I can't really agree it would be "better" for either one of the genders since that is just biased. Homeschooling is situational and unique to the individual receiving it is better for one person or another.

I don't think home schooling is good for any age, or any gender.
School isn't only about learning but giving you social skills and exposing you to different situations. When you're crammed in a house all day you won't be getting much of that. And in today's world having good manipulative skills and social skills is key for climbing the ladder in whatever career you choose.

Prove how homeschooling is more effective for boys please. and also, you can't participate in school interscholastic sports. You don't have clubs and there may be less oppurtunities in your life. I really don't like homeschooling.... the girl I know that gets homeschooled is one of the girls who gets frustrated at her parents a lot more than normal parents and she doesn't have much interaction with other girls, she only has a younger brother so she is kind a tomboy...not that that's bad but you need interaction with people of the same gender at least once a day.

Not an advocate for homeschooling, going to be honest I fail to see why anyone would willingly chose it but some really do need it. Sickly kids, overly busy kids, kids that travel. Basically someone that's in school for like 12 days at a time. My parents' pastor's wife home-school all of their 13 kids, to protect them from the world's evil. Those poor things have no idea how to interact with others without reminding anyone of The Shining.
Still wondering where genders play in.

@OP why is it more effective for boys than girls? I don't think gender matters at all, not even a little bit
In general, homeschooling might not be as good as public school. However it does work well for some.

There's probably some kind of correlation in social life and education, so I'd say homeschooling isn't better.

I don't think homeschooling is effective unless there is a reason for it. Like if you've been suspended from school or bullied at school. Or if you have a personal reason and homeschooling would fit you better. Other than that I don't see the point. I doubt it has anything to do with gender though.

This, some like a home environment to study, some like being in large open rooms with other students or peered learning.
Overall like Kenoloor said, it is ones learning style and way of thinking not ones gender.

School is not only about learning maths or grammar. It is also about learning social life. Homeschooling, regardless of the quality of the teacher, will never teach you those essential social realities.
So, my opinion is that homeschooling is a very bad idea resulting in most cases in socially impaired people, regardless of their sex.

I disagree with darkwoon. I've seen homeschooled kids and they have a very relaxing life. They don't have to wake up early, they don't have to learn stuff they'll never use in real life.
