I'm just curious, do you prefer female or male vocals? Or are you indifferent?
I'm obsessed with female vocals.

I love both, but prefer female (definitely depends on the situation though. But I mean, have you ever heard of a successful symphonic metal band with a male vocalist?)

I really dislike female Rock singers. Male vocals sound a lot better in my opinion. I also prefer male choir singers (although it's not like I listen to them often :P)

Doesn't matter to me. I think there are male and female vocals who are really good, and it's really hard for me to choose. But to be honest, when it comes to rock music i listen to male vocals mostly.

I really don't care... if the singer is good, they can both sound amazing.

I do not care...as long as you have the talent and are not auto-tuned..then yes, I appreciate your music.

I really don't care either way. I like this band called The Go-Go's, and they are all female.

I like listening to male vocals more. I can't think of any specific reason other than I like guys in general more than girls, but I dunno if that correlates. Maybe.
Anyway yeah I don't dislike all girl singers but my music library is a majority of guy voices.

It's all about what they bring to the table. I need something different from them. As long as they're not run-of-the-mill singers, I'm happy. I like a lot of voices, both male and female. However, the chances of me liking an artist/group are a tiny bit higher for female vocals. But if she sounds like Taylor Swift or something, absolutely no chance.

Kamelot is an awesome symphonic metal band, with a male vocalist.

You can't go wrong with a good liquid Dubstep song with a female vocalist.

If the lyrics and music they sing is meaningful, than the singer would not bother me being either male or female.

I was toying with putting female vocals or doesn't matter and ended with doesn't matter :p
The reason being I love love love bands like Flyleaf (female vocals) cause her voice is just amazing and fits so well with what they play, but other bands wouldn't work at all. There's alot more you can do with a male voice. But that doesn't mean a female voice can be any less engaging. If I like the music, I like the music. And i'll like it regardless of whose singing (as long as they're good of course).
And this comes from a female vocalist in a band :P

I prefer male vocalists, I listen to female vocalists too but my music library has a considerable amount more male vocalists than female. I just don't really like many female fronted bands apart from a few exceptions.

It doesn't matter for me. In rock and metal music there are of course way more male-fronted bands than there are female-fronted. So of course most of my favorite bands have male singers. However, some good rock/metal bands with female singers are Halestorm, Evanescence, Flyleaf, In This Moment, Paramore and Kittie.
The reason being I love love love bands like Flyleaf (female vocals) cause her voice is just amazing and fits so well with what they play, but other bands wouldn't work at all.

I voted male but I prefer female. It might just be that good male singers are less common nowadays but it seems to me female voices are overall more soulful and powerful.

I seriously think that if more female vocalists exist and used words like, "Fuck, cunt, dick, poop" the world would be a better place.
There's something appealing to this stuff.

I like female vocals. Girls can get higher notes and sound smoother.

Really depends on the music. There are songs in which only guys sound good and ones where only women sound good. Then there are cases where you can't rely it on man/women, because the song only sounds good with the vocals of that specific single. I'd find it hard to imagine any one else trying to substitute David Draiman in any of Disturbeds songs. So the song dictates which sounds best in my opinion.

It really doesn't matter to me. The music I listen to like rock are mostly male but things like v-pop and j-rock most are girls. As long as the music is good and the lyrics have a good meaning to them

I guess it depends on the genre. I love stuff like Avril Lavigne, Pink, Adele, Alicia Keys. But, I don't really care for rock bands with female singers. Overall, I think I prefer to hear a guy's voice.

Personally I prefer the timbre of female singers however male singers have a lot more versatility in my opinion. They have a huge range thanks to falsetto and an ability to change their tone into several different types. However, I still prefer female vocals!

male artists are so boring. It's constantly the same thing. I love this girl, or i love this girl and lost her. This is why i hate Bruno Mars/Justin Bieber/One Direction

Both can be good.
I probably prefer male vocals though, because i'm into heavy metal/heavy rock music, and there aren't a ton of female vocalist in that kind of music.
Some good ones though are Hayley Williams, Lacey Sturm and Amy Lee.
But yeah, I prefer male vocals because of the heavy music i'm into.

I generally prefer male. But then again I like loud angry rock and girls can't really sing like that :/
