I need a device with android for school. And these are the two options i have narowed my search down to. I like the smaller tablet form of the Nexus 7. But i also like the pocketability of the Player. So which would you get?

I'd go with the nexus. The galaxy player is basically like an iPod touch, it's a smartphone without the phone. Not sure why it's needed for school though.

What about the new Kindles? Still nothing more than a somewhat expensive toy like everything Android, but far better than everything else at those price points.
(I'm talking about the new Kindles, the ones that were announced TODAY, around the same time you created this thread, and available for pre-order a couple hours later, so you were more than likely unaware of them)

Ok. I will check out the galaxy tab.
And I cannot stand the way amazon butchered android. And the kindle fire hd's are nothing special. not for me.
