Okay, as some may know, I have posted awhile ago that I want to lose weight. Well, that stopped pretty quickly. My dad went into surgery and stuff and I just stopped all together. But going into PE/PT today, I realized I NEED to lose weight. Like 1 week ago is when it really started to kick in. I weighed myself and was up to 300 fucking pounds. That really made me decide to start losing weight. I have been starting slowly, I think. I started by doing around 15 wall up and some crunches and stuff. I am now able to do 10+ regular pushups without having to stop. That really motivated me because that was a huge problem I had last year. Now though, I want to actually start to lose weight. I've heard that doing cardio workouts is the best way to do it? I'll be having a ropes course coming up soon and also I have PE/PT every other 3 days. It sona rotation. Which I do a lot of cardio there. I also now walk home from school which is only a half mile. The huge problem that I have is what my parents buy for us. We don't make a lot of money so we cant just go and have the fish and other meats everyday, no. We have to have pasta like 4 days of the week. That is really bad because that is full of carbohydrates. Once in awhile we get a salad to go with it so I eat that first and little pasta. I think that when we have pasta I'm going to ask if they can buy us other stuff to.
And btw another reason why I really want to lose weight is because well, I am like the biggest kid in JROTC. I had to get bigger uniform this year because of it which was really embarrassing...
But does anyone have any ideas on workouts I can do? I know I can run a mile, but that really puts a lot of strain on my body and I also don't have time anymore. Barely any time for this. I do around 15 pushups every morning when I wake up, I'm starting to do some crunches too. I also walk home(half mile) and do some wall pushups in my room before bed because I don't have space for pushups. SO any other Ideas as to what I should do would be appreciated. Oh I almost forgot, I could possibly get the exercise bie out from the garage and workout in there. lets jsut hope it still has a seat and is easier to get to than I think it is...

OK forget push ups and sit ups for losing weight. If you are heavy you may even hurt yourself. Do em if you want for tone but you are better off putting the time into cardio.

Cardio - the best exercises (that burn the most calories, so the quickest for losing weight) you might be able to do for free are things like running, cycling, swimming. A really cheap one boxers use is skipping : you just need a bit of rope and a small amount of space.

Whatever cardio you do, you must do more than 30 minutes. This is because your body won't use energy from body fat until 30 minutes in.
If you can, keep going for 45 mins / hour. Its only the time after 30 mins that really counts for you.

Cardio should keep you out of breath. If you can hold a conversation or sing you aren't working hard enough. It is natural to find a 'comfortable' pace when you exercise, but this usually means people go slower than is helpful. You need to push yourself steadily.

Drink water before you exercise. Keep drinking water while you work out. This helps you perform better and stops you getting faint / headaches etc. Aim to drink a couple of pints of water minimum (1l).

Do it regularly, make it a habit, set yourself goals: if you do it at a certain time (eg after school, before dinner, after your fav tv program...). You should be able to do something 3 or 4 times a week. Do a different activity on some of your gap days if you feel its all going ok after a few weeks. The worst thing about trying to lose weight is your body isn't so used to it and you'll find any excuse to avoid that discomfort. Regular slots plus goals to beat help keep you motivated. Goals could include how far you go, how long you go. If you want to weigh yourself thats fine, but do it the same time of your routine each time, also measure your waist / tummy because this is what you probably want to see shrinking.

1 mile puts strain on your body? That's no excuse, you don't lose weight easily. Run 1 mile and find the time.

I know what he means, pulling around 300lbs is not easy and hurts your knees and ankles...

I definitely follow what tiger Boy is saying. 30- and hour of cardio. At the start I suggest the bikes and then as you. Hold strength go for running. Swimming is really good for loosing weight as well but it also makes many people eat more. So be careful, be aware, and have fun!

but it also makes many people eat more.

Increased appetite will come with any exercise, the more you work the hungrier you are as a general rule. This raises a good point : the trick with a new exercise regime is to make sure you are giving your body the right fuel, not greater quantity per se.

Start exercising with cardio a lot as in maybe every other day or every day. Then cut out all junk from your diet and focus on only clean foods. Then if you are really desperate try Intermittent Fasting, it is a guaranteed way to really lose weight and get your bf% down.
