My school seems to be really stupid. I think student input is important but half the students are such dumbasses, and the other half are actually quite intelligent. See a problem? If one side doesnt get what they want the other side will turn on them. What to do?

Most schools don't give a fuck for kids getting like medium and bad grades

Most of the society is just like that - you'll unfortunately have to deal with it :)

What you can do is what everybody ever did - become a "political" leader, and make people follow you, even for bad reasons. You simply cannot count on the overall intelligence of people; partly because intelligent people have each their own agenda, and thus won't all move in the same direction; and partly because intelligence of the masses is not a decisive parameter at all.

No child left behind.
Lowering the bar and keeping kids dumb.

School's not dumb, the people that can't figure out how to make the system work properly and efficiently are.

100% agreed.
This year my school split the 10th and the 11th-12th graders. Now we have to be shuttled to either campus which takes anywhere from 2-6 minutes and we only have 5 minutes to get to class.

This won't sound like it has anything to do with your thread but I'll get to that.

School isn't so much about what you learn in classes than it is about making connections. A % of people will benefit from school, another % won't be affected and another % will be screwed up by the education system.

That isn't the point though. Is learning about the various parts of a plant cell gonna make you successful in life? Probably not. In fact, you most likely won't even remember.

The point of school is learning survival/life skills. If you're great with making friends/for women in particular: manipulating men/charming teachers. Well, you're doing damn well.

You make connections in school with the people who will help you get somewhere in life e.g. the genius nerd who's a lot more likely to work his butt off to get somewhere in life. You befriend/manipulate because that's what's gonna lead you to the top of the ladder.

The average human spends most of his/her time interacting with others. Now that's what you need to learn in school. If you're not bullied severely, if you survive bullying, if people are willing to die for you, if you can make someone stand by you, if you can make people listen, make people love you - you're doing very well.

So no, school is not stupid. The bullshit we sometimes have to learn (like the building structures of Australia during the post-war period) is stupid. The experiences are not.

Conclusion:It doesn't matter that much where anyone else gets (unless you feel their happiness will benefit you in some way or you're just really nice) or how much they fight. Just make sure you balance yourself well on both (the "dumb" and "smart" side.) You'll be surprised at how useful "stupid people" can be. School can be fun. It's good training for the real world. Stupid people are all around and they will never go away :)

Life isn't fair and that works in your favour. Not everyone will get what they want so you just make sure "you and your people" get what you want.

^That, that's true. Also, yes, no child left behind has fucked the wrong people, and helped the right people. In my opinion, society is too generous to the, to put it in acceptable terms "mentally challenged". We're too babied in our schools, we need corporal punishment back.

No child left behind fucked me because now I have to, HAVE TO, follow my stupid god damned IEP. It puts me in the dumb classes, well at least they want to. Apparently I'm too stupid for AP Government, so they out me in the stupefied class. Well, as you can see, I'm not stupid. If it were up to my IEP directors, I would be in all dumb classes.

School now caters to urge lowest common denominator, or else those patents would be all pissed off because their child's needs aren't bring served. Let me tell ya, your "special" child isn't likely to have a good future.

Like, for charges to flow through a component in an electric circuit, a potential difference is needed. Thus, applying the same concept, for the school to work effectively, there is the need to have varied level of intelligence. School is cool of one can get the maximum out of it.

Not really. I don't see the problem there. What is it?

If one side doesnt get what they want the other side will turn on them. What to do?

How does this work exactly?

Two sides, X, Y.

X does not get what it wants. This then implies that Y turns on X.
Y does not get what it wants. This then implies that X turns on Y.

I don't understand how one of the two not getting what they want implies that the other side turns on that side that didn't get what they want. Do explain the reasoning here, would you?

I can't see that at all. If anything, I agree with your IEP director.
