So I was thinking about u kno some food companys ads and such what really hit me is how vague it really is, "made with white meat" ...white meat??? White meat is more of a phrase than a part of a chicken, not like they say chicken breast, so does it means I can get a blob of a nugget of any part of a chicken and paint it white? Isn't tht white meat? (Or just drown it in ammonia thts wat they really do)....
What about 100 percent real beef??? Does tht mean the burger I ate last year was 50 percent fake beef ?!?!? Tht too 100 percent real beef could mean its organs or like any other part too.
Even our "fresh" homemade meals from the grocery store is all genetically modified. Jeez the food laws here sucks! Do you think the laws here should be more relax, same or more strict???
Btw I wouldn't go for the french fries

Well white meat is healthier for you....dark meat can be bad. So they are just saying that it's "healthy".....correct me if I'm wrong.

Poultry has both white and dark cuts of meat. It's not just a phrase.

Basically, yeah. There's this stuff called "pink slime" that's an additive that looks and tastes like beef when cooked and it's cheaper than pure beef, so fast food companies would put it in their products.
Tht too 100 percent real beef could mean its organs or like any other part too.
No, regulations on the food industry describe exactly what phrases in advertising has to mean.
Even our "fresh" homemade meals from the grocery store is all genetically modified.
And...? GM foods are still grown in fields and picked fresh.
Jeez the food laws here sucks!
You should maybe look them up before talking. Almost everything you've said about the food industry is bullshit.
Do you think the laws here should be more relax, same or more strict???
More lax, mostly because of things like the FBI raiding Amish milk farms because they sell raw milk. Regulations don't make things safer, they just force companies to work around them and keep competition out of the market.
Not really cuz I can turn any meat white with ammonia
Are you being deliberately obtuse?

"white meat" refers to a cut from the bird that is lower in fat than "dark meat." Like the guy above me said, regulations on the food industry describe exactly what phrases in advertising has to mean. Hope this clears stuff up.

White meat is all meat derived from poultry. This includes ducks, chickens, goose and even nightingales, if you like them.
Red meat or dark meat is everything else.
It's not about coloring meat, or bleaching it in ammonia, it's about the animal it comes from.

Some people mix different types of meat, especially for burgers. It's usually beef and pig's meat, but some places may even mix soy with it all, to pay less for the meat. So if they want you to eat a real beef burger, they'll say it's 100% beef. It's more of a market trick.

Food laws mostly suck. We end up eating a huge amount of food that's been tempered with genetically, without any knowledge of what it does to our body. It's how the world goes, however.

Not quite. Red meat is from your mammals, but white and dark meat both come from poultry. Like I said in my last post, white meat is lower in fat and considered to be healthier. Dark meat comes from the legs (drumsticks) and is less healthy but more flavorful and often more tender.

They aren't just phrases, they have actual meanings. Contrary to popular belief, dark meat isn't just the fattier meat. Dark meat refers to the muscles which are used most, the legs. They require more oxygen and as a result have more myoglobin in them. This turns them darker in colour. Dark meat is slightly higher in fat, but not significantly. You also can't just bleach them with ammonia.

100% real beef is exactly what the name suggests. And they aren't allowed to put just anything in them, it has to be specific cuts of beef. And yes, if they say "Now made with 100% real beef" that means you used to be eating fake beef as well.
Even our "fresh" homemade meals from the grocery store is all genetically modified. Jeez the food laws here sucks! Do you think the laws here should be more relax, same or more strict???
I think the laws should be about the same. Also, there's nothing wrong with genetically modified food as long as it is properly tested.

I'm sorry for the mistake. Where I live, we only divide it in white and red meat, so I thought red and dark were the same.

I kno what white meat and dark meat is... Haha just watched food inc. Thts y I posted this
So ok maybe I went overboard but still the way animals are raised here is not good, I mean the way our chicken and beef and pig and farm raised fish is disgusting, the law shouid be sticter so what we order really is thr food and no unesissary fillers, competition won't nesserarily help if the crappier food is cheaper, I'm not exactly sure how produce is picked and qualified, here, but I know other countries tht import produce from thailand is legit getting poisoned by them, (like painting red apples redder) only now I think its starting to stop or people are more aware,

I believe I watched that movie before. It's where they talk about giving chickens growth hormones and etc I believe.
But as they've said White meat and dark meat are different parts. The white meat is the breast while the dark meat the the drumstick. The dark meat is usually an undesired meat type because they aren't as healthy.
When a product makes a claim such as 100% chicken or whatever, it is 100% chicken. They cannot lie about that. Like if you go to a nice restaurant and it says "Kobe burger" the whole burger isn't made out of Kobe beef. Usually 10-20% is Kobe beef while the rest is Black Angus quality hamburger. If it were 100% Kobe, it would cost the eater anywhere from $100-$300. Because 1 lb of Kobe beef can run from $200-$300. It's a specially prepared cow that is made in Japan, America, or Australia.
Usually ads can trick people by saying "Made with chicken" or "made with white meat", but if they say "Made with 100% chicken" or "Made with 100% white meat" they aren't lying. You can also take a few extra seconds and look at the food labels ingredients. They'll provide further information. The only thing you can trust that's not treated with unhealthy chemicals and treated with natural food is if the label says "Organic" that's the only way you can know for sure. Because they cannot simply put "organic" if it's not organic. But organic is more costly. A normal gallon of milk can cost $2 while organic can cost anywhere from $5-$7. Doctors say its a waste of money getting fruits or veggies organic, because you can just wash off the pesticides. The foods you should get that are organic are stuff like meat, milk, and really anything that can have stuff go inside of it. Fruits and veggies just have the pesticides on top of it to kill and discourage e bugs eating that food, so it can be washed off.
Edit:
You shouldn't be afraid to eat food now, as much as that movie has freaked you out. Honestly, it's simply about cost. Studies have shown there is barely any difference in organic and the normal food. It also depends where you shop, you cannot say that every store is bad. Cause it's not, most of the stores you go to might have all those pesticides and growth hormones, while organic stores or specialty stores won't have all that stuff. A few years ago I remember the issue of cloned cows being with the natural cows. Now most stores have to say whether or not that cow has been cloned or not. You go to a grocery store, and their fish says something to the effect of "Color has been added" to the fish. Btw, places like Thailand are renowned for their healthy and natural food. Many citizens in the Asian countries have it harder, and can't afford to much. That's why factories like Nike go there. They can pay their employees $0.09 an hour vs $8.00 and hour here. You couldn't even survive on 9 cents an hour here.
