I am confused about the suggestion, are you wanting notifications of when a new poll has been posted?

If so, what purpose would it serve? I find polls to be a case of, you vote on them if you wish, I don't think we would need a notification.

However I did not understand the suggestion, so forgive me if I have missed the bigger picture.

No need for this. Polls have icons that show they are polls.

I don't see a use for this.

You'll see this icon http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/images/styles/fblue/misc/poll_posticon.gif when a thread has a new topic.

This notification probably isn't possible to implement and is rather useless.
