This may sound stupid but what exactly do you mean when you say your voice cracks

that mean that your voice still has your "old" voice or the voice you had when before you hit puberty. This voice is clashing with your new deeper voice so your voice will crack or go from low to high.

like if you get angry or sad and you start talking and your voice all of a sudden goes higher than normal :)

Voice tone is caused by the length of the vocal cord, which lengthen during adolescence. 'Cracking' refers to the result of the elasticity of those cords, sometimes they're long and deep, other times, they're short and high pitched. With time, they lengthen consistenly, and you'll have a full 'adult voice'. until then, it 'cracks' when it changes in mid sentence.

Voice cracking is basically the result of your voice box and vocal cords growing so fast (growth spurt) that the brain isn't used to controling how big they got. So your voice might go really high or really low in the middle of a word, even as short as "I" in "I love walnuts"
It's more like squeaking, but it's refered to ask cracking because it interupts sentences and things like that. :D

Yeah my voice stopped crack like a month ago, but when you say the "vocal cords are growing so fast," ummm, months to a year isn't very fast is it?

Hmm, I've never had my voice crack. I guess all those years in chorus helped. Or maybe I just never realized it, although given what a big deal people make over it when it happens to someone I doubt it. You probably won't even notice.

It's highly noticable to most people.

It's noticible by OTHER people, but it's kind of hard to tell by yourself. Unless you squeek loudly.
And when your voice cracks, it means it goes higher than it sometimes does. It's just a sign of puberty, so when you get older, your voice stays deeper.
