Is it normal to trim your armpit hair? Do you?

I just did it the other day because my friend came over to swim, and the last time he came over, he saw my Pit hair and said "omg you have so much compared to me". He's 14 and he barely has any, and I didnt want that to happen again.

Yeah i do it you have to keep it clean because it looks nasty if you have to much hair, i trim every now and then and it looks better trim.

I don't, that just kinda sounds odd. Also, if anything he wouldn't comment on it again, but now he'll probably comment that you trimmed it.

Yeah I know lots of guys who do this. Mainly because its easier to keep smelling nice . I think it is something to do with bacteria growing on the old sweat that makes the smell, and lots of hair is lots of surface area for that to all happen in, so more hair = more smell. And smooth is a lot quicker to clean and more effective to use deodorant on.

I am still growing my armpit hair. Only two official hairs under my right arm but growing longer in the left and right. Should I shave it all off when it comes? I've been wanting a whole bush of armpit hair for a while now and I've looked at other guys my age who have big patches of it. Please reply!

What do you mean "your almost there now"? I'm probably one of three boys in my grade (10) that are really late. The hairs aren't that long but if you look up close in the mirror you can see they are getting longer but not darker and thicker.

I shave mine. I've always wanted either a full bush or none. Nature gave me just a little, so I shave everything off. Looks and feels much better!

I don't shave or trim mine.

Nope, I don't trim or shave mine. I guess I'm sort of "old fashioned" in the sense that I believe men shouldn't shave or trim their body hair. I mean, it's perfectly fine if men do, but personally, I love having body hair. So I prefer to not shave or trim my arm pit hair.

Yeah, my gf thinks it's gross so I shave it.

But yeah it's also good higiene.

That's really your own personal preference. It's normal though, if you want to

It happens. I like to keep it natural but a few of my friends do it so it doesn't stick out during games.

I do just because it looks cleaner and it helps reduce b.o.

Sure, I trim mine every now and then. Mine starts to look gross after it gets a certain length..plus, I tend to sweat a lot, and trimming/shaving just seems to make me smell so much better.

I dont trim it. Sometimes if its beginning to get uncomfortable, i shave it to give it a clean start but otherwise i leave it alone. i dont love my body hair but i just deal with it

Its a sensitive area so I don't believe you can wax. You could shave or try hair removal creams possibly. If you had money to blow you might be able to get it lasered eventually if it still bothers you, which reduces / eliminates regrowth. Or you could try Intense Pulsed Light treatment which is cheaper and reduces hair regrowth (my mum has recently got a machine for this which I'm hoping she'll let me borrow if it works for her).
