Cuba is no longer a threat to the United States. We have much bigger fish to fry, and keeping the embargo on Cuba is a non-issue.

And no, I don't agree with it. The whole thing about the US having conflicts with their government is completely stupid. We trade with China, right? And they're a communist state. And the security of our nation having to deal with Cuba is no longer an issue. Their tourism industry could flourish so much more. Trade would too. Overall, both countries would benefit if this embargo was lifted.

50 years! wow i'm surprised that the gov't managed to keep something going that long. maybe that's the reason why it's there to show us that they can do something properly for an extended period of time. I can see no other reason for it. Unless the Cuban gov't is making threats against us... in that case i can understand.

I don't see how anyone could agree with the embargo, especially now. It's basically keeping Cube from truly entering the first world and directly causing so many Cubans to suffer in poverty.

It's no longer necessary. The only reason I can think of for it still existing is because somebody somewhere is still pissed off because Cuba nationalized some American assets a long time ago. It's time to get over it and move forward.
