View Full Version : Kids these days..

Yesterday a fangirl who calls herself Amanda Bieber (clever, right?) took to her Twitter account to defend her "boyfriend" Justin Bieber against the haters—something which, judging from her feed, seems to be her primary occupation. She posted the following:
Justin Bieber is much bigger than Kurt Cobain, so shut up. Did Kurt Cobain ever have the biggest fanbase on Twitter? NO.
Umm, no he did not because HE DIED IN 1994 BEFORE TWITTER WAS EVEN A GLIMMER IN ITS MOTHER'S EYE. God, kids these days, hell in a handbasket, walked five miles uphill both ways, etc.
But seriously, Amanda, you are probably young, and you're certainly not the only person saying dumb things on the internet. I was totally ready to crawl back into my cryogenic preservation pod and let Courtney Love take care of your mess. But then I noticed that Cobain is not alone among Amanda's targets. Today she really took it high class when she said this about another superstar who never knew the exquisite agony of tweeting:
LOL at people saying Freddie Mercury was a great role model and Bieber is not. You know Freddie was gay and had AIDS right?
Oh, god. God, god, god. Fingers crossed that the ghosts of Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain meet up and somehow figure out a way to tweet from the beyond, because they could pull together more followers than Mr. Bieber in about five minutes and teach the young Mrs. Bieber a real thing or two.
This is old news, but it saddens me how the the classics are dying among the younger generation.

The classics have always had those who didn't like them. It's nothing new.

lol @ all the people getting massively trolled by this bitch. Leave it to the people who say "hurr classic bands are better durr" and the ones who don't even bother trying to look for better modern music to say shit like this. Older music is not automatically better than newer music, so please stop acting like the "classics" are not getting the respect they deserve.

I like some classic rock bands and I like some newer rock bands. One thing is for sure, I will never like Bieber. He's a mindless twat and he's only successful 'cuz he's good looking.

Damn what a stupid bitch. It saddens me to see a dumb broad like this even compare that little faggot to 2 legends. Kurt Cobain and Freddie Mercury didn't need that electro shit like that queerbate Justin Beaver. In a couple years the Justin Beiber fad will fade away and some other stupid fucker will come along. Damn there is a lot of stupid people now. At least there are some people keeping the memory of legends like Kurt Cobain and Freddie Mercury alive. Oh and btw, Justin Beiber is even gayer than Freddie Mercury [ no offense to gays ].

This.
It really comes off as pretentious when I hear people complaining about how someone doesn't like "classic" music. (btw, there has always been really crappy music, and super awesome music. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's classic.) Most of the kids I hear complaining about it weren't even alive when those artists where around anyway, so it completely makes sense as to why a 14 year old wouldn't be familiar with Rush's music, or even like it if they heard it. It also bothers me when someone bashes a mainstream artist just because they are mainstream.
Music is something to be shared and enjoyed, not to be argued over and used as a crutch for someone's ego. I like Justin Bieber. I think he's a talented guy and he makes decent music (though not nearly as good as I think he's capable of). Some people don't like him, and that's okay. But if you don't like someone, it should be because you don't like they're music, not the fact that they're more widely known than you think they should be.
Boobies.

I hate the music that this generation is into. I am part of this generation, but thanks to my dad, I was introduced to REAL music and saved from the vortex of electronica and autotune.
