Oaky I just got a flashdrive yesterday and I always use it to boot into ubuntu, but halfway into booting it freezes as if the flashdrive has been removed. Is there a way to fix this without having to reinstall ubuntu onto it? its a long wait for macbuntu to install.
Also, where can I buy a cheap SATA adapter for my hardrive?
I want to start booting from that instead considering it's more reliable holds more data and already has a permanant copy of ubuntu on it.

Have you updated any drivers recently? Could be a driver-related read error, or an actual hardware failure (flash drive stops being powered for long enough for the computer to consider it as unplugged). There's also the chance of the flash drive having bad sectors (they only support so many rewrites).
Boot into your normal OS and chkdsk the flash drive. If your normal OS can't properly access it or crashes / freezes when trying to, it is most likely in the process of dying.

What brand is it and where did you buy it from? Some flash drives, specially off brand or knock offs, are very poor quality, but most will have a warranty as long as they are from some actual brand (it could just be defective, or could be the USB port as I said).

When booting from the flashdrive it boots halfway, stalls then crashes. i'm not sure how to fix this.
but in windows it works perfectly fine and I can move around the files in my school folder and everything.
its a sandisk 8gig flashdrive
Okay. when I whent to boot it up i hit my escape key and it showed me a log of proccesses, an d it appeared to be tryingto log into an un-existing user, how can I fix this?
Please don't double post, we have the edit button for a reason, as I've said countless times before. ~TheMatrix

so it isn't a hardware-related issue, but rather a configuration problem (As seen on your second post).
Thats the first I've heard of such an error, and I'm not entirely sure if it is even possible to edit that kind of options from a different OS (would be a huge security hole if it was).
