So today... my mom decided to pull a sneak attack on me, and took away practically everything because I moved her laptop so I could use mine and because I had a cup of water on the table right next to the desk. But... she went on and on about how she was right and how I was wrong. I was going to put her laptop back before she usually comes home from work. In pleading her case, whenever I tried to say something, she kicked me and scratched my face and arms and bruised my chest. Afterwards, when she was about to leave, she asked me to come out the door, and so I did, thinking she had to say something then leave. However, she threw me out the door and locked it and said she wanted me to sit on the ground until she left work at 4:30. So... I went outside, sat under a tarp, thinking it was true. BUT, she came back like 10 mins later, and argued with me again and kicked me to the groundand pulled my hair while again pleading her case. She let me back in the house, after another 10 mins of screaming and arguing.

I have wounds as proof, but is it the fear that constitutes abuse?

She did all of this because you moved her laptop? Well either way, legally what she's doing is illegal. You can go to the police or if it's not that big of a deal you can just not do anything. If it happens a lot then I suggest going to the police but it's your call.

^lol it's still her mom.
I suggest counter violence. Sounds like your mom is either an insecure bully or a meth smoker. Don't let her indulge in your pain. She takes your stuff away? Leave 5 more cups on the desk and move her laptop to the toilet. She tries to fuck you up? Slap her in the face and break her arm. 'twas self-defence, you ain't goin to juvy!
