so my mum and I have a bit of a dispute. I am into knives, guns, fast motorbikes and all things military. I am a cadet so i go out bush alot and I also work at a fish market. So I like to have a knife when im doing those things. The problem is my mum doesnt like me buying knives or leatherman tools. I dont see why, i dont flash them around, i dont take em to school or anything stupid like that.
I just want to be able to collect somthing that I have a use for and that I like. I know it might be a bit weird to collect knives but its just somthing I like.

Collect swords. Just like knives but less blood on you when you do the deed...!

No, explain to your mother that you just like collecting them, and that if you wanted something bad to happen it would have happened already. say that there is no more danger in this then the crazy gun laws in the us.

Pointed sticks are free and just as stabby. Knife specific laws are flawed - people can still carry screwdrivers or heavy torches or some other weapon without it being 'a weapon'.

Still, there's a difference between buying a useful tool to do a job and collecting Lego . How many knives do you actually need? I'd have thought a leatherman + swiss army + hunting knife should cover you for most things...
