View Full Version : What did I see???

So, I saw something a few weeks ago that I can't get out of my mind, and I really need to see if anyone else has ever seen anything like this.

It was about 12:30 at night, and I was walking down the road with my cousin. I live far from town so the night sky is very clear, many stars. There was not a cloud in the sky this night. So my cousin and I are walking and talking about deep mindbogglers like we always do on these walks, when all of a sudden, a flash of blueish, whitish light illuminates everything! I could see my surroundings clear as day! I saw the shadows of trees and the cracks in the ground I was walking on, thats how bright it suddenly got. This light lasted for no more than 1 second. When it fades, I notice something out of the top of my eye, up in the sky. I look up, and what I see is almost indescribable. Imagine a tear in our atmosphere. Like a knife went through it. An incredible white light was bursting through this gash in the sky. It was whitest it the middle, and got more bluish towards the outside and a purple vapor looking stuff on the very tips. It was thickest in the middle, and faded out on each side into thin points. It lasted for about 2 or 3 seconds before it looked as though it sealed up from the corners into the middle. My cousin and I just stood there in aw at what we had just seen. Then we look across a feild the road we were on was next to, and way off in the distance, a very bright ball of light was hovering, in one spot. It was in the sky and very far away, but it was 10x brighter than any star in the sky, and was putting off a gold light. It stayed there, not moving, for at least 30-45 seconds, and then just blinked out. Very soon after that, a dome shaped thundercloud, or more like a dome made of various thunderclouds, formed in the same general location as the ball of light we saw. There was not a cloud in the sky before this. Then there was lighting. Incredible amounts of lighting. We couldn't hear it, but I am not exagerating when I say that not 1/4 of a second went by without this dome of clouds lighting up with lighting. Literally, not a single moment went by without constant lighting flashes! This went on for about 2 and a half hours before we went to bed. The dome did not move at all, and the lighting never stopped for a second.

If anyone has ever seen anything like this, please let me know because I have not a single clue as to what it was, especially the gash of light in the sky, which was the most unreal, beautiful thing I have ever seen. Words could not describe the way this thing looked in person. So please let me know if you have seen something like this or know what it is!

Well you see, what I am going to say will possible get me yelled at or negative rep. But I believe you may have had an encounter of some sort. Yes call me crazy, but I believe we actually have extraterrestrial beings visiting Earth daily.
There have been numerous accounts of sightings. Sometimes 50+ people seeing the same thing. There was a sighting in Africa I believe where 62 students all saw and said the exact same thing. They also drew almost the same thing. I think that is a little weird. Sure I may just be crazy, but I still say that we are being visited constantly. Theres just many things that don't make sense. Little gold f16's found in a jungle from tribes that lived hundred of years ago? I think thats weird. Anyway thats just me rambling on so I should probably shut up now...

Sounds like heat lightning to me. We get it here a lot and it is quite a bit brighter and more intense than normal lightning for whatever reason. Although, I think there normally are clouds with that, considering how lightning forms/happens, whatever... I have seen something like what you are talking about, except on a cloudy night and it is very beautiful, any lightning is to me. So yeah, I don't know what it is, but that's what it kinda seems like to me?

I agree either heat lightening or St. Elmo's Fire. Sounds a lot like St. Elmo's fire to me but you said it was in a field, the little ball, that typically appears on tall things like chimneys. I was out with my bf one night when there was a small rumble and suddenly every single chimney top/tv attena thingy we could see had pretty blue and purple balls of light on them. I was freaking out screaming aliens when my bf said it's just St. Elmos' Fire and we should get inside.

Idk, I wouldn't put it past being someone of a different encounter though.

It sounds to me like it could have just been lightning. A about a week ago my friends and I were hanging outside at 4 in the morning. It was really foggy and all of a sudden there was a lightning storm. The whole sky and surrounding scenery was completely illuminated by blue light. This went on for about a hour which was pretty amazing.

heat lightning or a meteroite

Yeah i agree maybe a meteorite and ball lightning. Or maybe you were visited. If you are religious, UFO's may be demons. Their (alien) descriptions are very similar to demons according to daemonologie. lol

Yes the thunder clouds and flashing lights was most definitely heat lightning, but what I saw before that was most definitely not, or at least not like i have ever seen. It as blue and purple and had no resemblance whatsoever, and it also stayed in the air for a few seconds before fading away. the closest thing I can relate it to is the northern lights, but even that was dim in comparison. And what is this st. Elmo's fire?

I don't think your crazy at all! I would not be surprised if we were getting visited constantly. When you think about how incredibly big the universe is, I find it hard to believe there is not other life forms out there. And this gash of light in the sky was the most unreal, alien looking thing I have ever seen! Like out of a scifi movie. I can't say that it was extraterrestrial, because I not a clue what it actually was, but I would not be surprised.

Well at least one person doesn't think I'm crazy. And I didn't think it was heat lightning because you said it was blue/purple. Maybe its just where I live, but the heat lightning isn't blue/purple...

ok. I watch The Weather Channel and shows on that channel ALOT. i know ALOT about weather. I'm not saying I am the King of Weather but what I'm trying to say is, what you saw was most likely the formation of a supercell or microburst. these are small powerful storm cells that form out of no where. The lights you saw were the formations of areas where lightning formed. I know you'r ehtinking that you saw some super-natural sight, and ya know, maybe it was something out of the ordinary. But all i'm trying to say is, sounds like the heat and humidity of the summer formed storms and you just were very tired and din't know what you saw. Don't believe me though. My opinion.

dude, if what you are saying is true report it to the FBI and offer to let them hook you up to a lie detector to prove it. you may have witnessed how U.F.Os can get in and out of our atmosphere. by the sounds of it.

This sounds like an encounter with extra terrestrials. just now are we starting to get reliable proof aliens exist. this one guy has had hundreds if not thousands of alien encounters throughout his life and nobody can figure out if what he is saying is hoax, hypnosis just sends him into some traumatizing memories. I'm not 100% sure on this.

(Yes I know I'll probably get negative rep for this post.)

@Trail.Blazer

He said he saw a object in the distant sky that emitted a golden light. how would that be caused by the weather? for all we know it may have messed with the weather, what-ever is was. theres just too many questions to be answered before we can make a sure answer.

I'm not sure what I saw.. It could very well be that. But I don't know, it just looked too unreal. Like a hole in the atmosphere with this unearthly light shining through. However I wasn't tired and if you asked my cousin he would describe the same thing I do. My cousin mentioned it could possibly be solar winds?? We aren't for sure cuz neither of us know what that looks like.

OH i forgot to mention this! You know how I said we saw a giant bundle of thunderclouds off in the distance? Yeah it was going on for hours, and we went back to my house to check the weather radar... there wasn't a single storm marked on the radar within my state... weird or what??? Maybe there is a scientific explanation for this? Idk, if you asked me what I think I saw I couldn't tell you because I have never heard or seen anything like it.

The blue light sounds like St. Elmo's Fire, and the ball sounds alot like ball lightning. I won't rule out the possibility of an alien encounter, but let's not jump to conclusions.

Well I mean it's hard to believe people over the internet. Maybe it was some super-natural/extraterrestrial thing. But maybe it was some weather thing. It doesn't have to turn up on the radar. Expecially if no rain or any precipitation is associated with it. In a part of the country that is very dry and hot? could be Dry Thunderstorms? They can look really out-of-sorts.

Then you didn't have a storm, the storm had passed or the radar blitzed out. I'm feeling pretty confident that you saw Saint Elmo's Fire. Everything you said, from the colors, to the floating balls that blink out and flashing of lights in the sky.

Yeah I realize it must be hard to believe me, seeing as I have absolutely no proof that it actually happened. But thats why I posted it, just to see what others might think it was. It seems to me some sort of freak weather experience is most likely what happened, but really I cant say.
